  1. I have noticed an increased amount of vehicular traffic using GWW southside. This will inevitably be BB on the bin rounds, however during their haste they are failing to notice that they are churning up the grass and leaving a muddy hole trailing it all into the path itself as they dodge the fallen trees - instead of removing them too.

Do they not have a smaller vehicle they can use? Can they keep off the grass? Can the road sweeper not make a journey down there once a week to keep the surface cleared of debris? Also it is still awaiting a survey to repair the surface in places. This is a vital artery for the non-motoring community and it should be maintained efficiently, which it is not - unless it is a community led action. Now they are raising council tax.....

We should be happy that they are emptying these bins, lets not rock thereat by complaining.

  2. I use this Oval as a rat run and I have done for many years, why wouldn't I? It saves me at least 20 mins or more from my journey, tbh only local people would be aware and it will only be for an hour or so during the week, so i do not see what the problem is here? I have been using this rat run way before these houses were ever there. I am not being awkward but if local people didn't use these little runs there would be even more traffic sat on the belmont rd.

I have to admit I also drive from Belmont across into Waterfield Road and out through the Oval for the same reasons that Frank has highlighted above, surely this is what rat runs are for?

  3. The reality is that the enforcement of a particular problem is now just reactive at a local level. Other than random speed stuff with cars.

What utter nonsense, the police just need to issue fixed penalty notices (that is what they are for) no paperwork it is very simple.

  4. I understand that, Colin, but my wife was on the road, behaving herself and was hit, then abused by a motorist. If she was on the pavement, it wouldn't have happened, that is part of the reason for it, so it is linked to the topic in hand whether people like it or not.

I am not having a pop at you but in fairness someone could say the same thing about motorways, my wife was behaving herself in her car and was then hit by a lorry then abused by the lorry driver. If she was driving along the hard shoulder, it would not of happened...

So what is the difference here?

  5. I was chatting with a friend this morning and he was telling me that his daughter had a to fork out for £300 worth or damaged to her car this week, caused by a cyclists.

Apparently the cyclist just rode into the side of her car as she was just about to get into the car after her lunch break, he actually fell off his bike, said sorry and rode off. Lots of damage to both the back door and rear panel. These cyclists should be insured it is unfair that people liken my friends daughter have to pay hundreds of pounds fro damaged caused by a cyclist.

This is not fair and the laws need to one changed.
