  1. Can we get back to the original topic please folks.

I support the idea of a filter light for traffic turning right into St Nicholas St, so many cars coming towards you are obviously jumping the lights preventing traffic from crossing within the limited time they have to cross.

Definately need filter lights on this junction.  :Thumbs-Up:  :Thumbs-Up:

  2. Ipusseycat, you are correct that the Community Association was recently given £500 after winning a community award.  This money will be used to improve the rear garden of the Centre, paving the area, purchasing seating etc so that users can sit outside in the sun and chat, read books an generally enjoy the facility.

As I am sure you can appreciate although we are a charity we also have overheads, heating, lighting, water and have a duty to keep the Centre in good repair.  We have recently purchased new flooring in the toilets and foyer area and have undertaken to repaint a number of rooms.

We did hold an afternoon tea earlier in the year where £5 per head was charged and the people attending the event commented on how wonderful it was, how much the enjoyed it and how they would love to attend another event.  Our Chairman makes all of the food from fresh including cakes, scones, gateaux, sandwiches, party food and of course unlimited drinks.

When you consider that most places charge a minimum of £2.50 for a coffee I personally think this is real value for money, especially for fresh and homemade food.  If you would like to come along to the event we are always looking for volunteers, and you will be able to see for yourself how much people enjoy it and how much is included in the price.

Well said, I couldn't make it we were out of town in London for the Queens celebration weekend which was fabulous. I am sure it was a good day at the centre, well done everyone  :Happy_32:

  3. It is pointless keep going on about a tram system, it won't happen. Many years ago Albert Heinz wanted a tram on the GWW, Herefordshire Council refused to consider it although there would not of been any cost to them, because Mr Heinz was going to not only pay for its construction but also maintain it. Again in the past two years there has been two Petitions requesting a tram system and the lights to be turned off at Asda, While Cllr Philip Price is with the Cabinet he will not consider it, and has said so many times.

Yes we know about all that. Personally, I think it is a great idea and off course we should keep on about it! In fact, we should shout louder!!!!!

  4. Speaking to the people building them in the past few weeks, there has been trouble with them internally, they are expected to be tenanted by end of July. It is a pity Mr Edwards do not engage with his constituents he has now on Newton Farm, again on Monday I will be meeting tenants to attempt to solve their problems they are experiencing. At their request. To be honest I haven't stopped helping the people although officially I am not their councillor anymore!

Come on Glenda, you really need to forget about Cllr Edwards, virtually every topic about NF you have a pop at him, he got elected just get on with it now.

These flats have taken forever, not sure I like the whole set up, much prefer the block opposite, they could of also gone another floor or two higher in my opinion. Still cannot get my head around the fact that they knock down blocks for houses resulting in less homes for people.

  5. As I indicated before an elected mayor is done like through an general election for councillors and the term of office is 4 years. Cllr Kenyon was elected by the city councillors of which the majority was his own group, the deputy mayor is also one of their own group, as IOC runs the city council it was a forgone conclusion they would vote one of their own into office like they have done for the last 3 years.

Fair play to them, I am sure we would all do the same if we had the majority but to be fair to Jim Kenyon he is a real grafter and often put much more into it than many other councillors out there there is no denying that.

    Congratulations Cllr Kenyon

  6. Great band and a great guy.

The HT have just caught up with this story you posted Colin 9 mins ago I see lol

They are obviously monitoring HV which is flattering but they are still 3 hours behind which isn't bad.

Robert Plant is a legend! I wish I had know about this gig because I would of most definitely gone.

  7. Unlawful Killing was the only conclusion they could come to simply because people were at a football game minding their own business, yes the police should share the blame as should the council and football authorities for allowing such a high profile game to take place in such a delapidated stadium in the first place. I agree that everyone that had lied, changed evidence and tried to cover up the truth should be held accountable but there is one group that to this day refuses to be held accountable and that the Liverpool supporters themselves.

Obviously, not all of the Liverpool supporters at the game are to blame but you cannot ignore the fact that the actions of a minority also contributed to this disaster. They have and will never accept that along with the police the stewards and local authority they also should acknowledge and accept some of the blame. This is not a dig at all Liverpool supporters because as a football supporter who regularly attended matches at that time the behaviour of a minority of fans from all clubs was unacceptable and this disaster may also of happened had it been supporters of Leeds, Chelsea, Aston Villa etc

My sympathies have always gone to the victims families because nobody should go to a football game and loose their life.

  8. I think what is more frustrating is reading week in and week out about drug/alcohol addicts thieving regularly with not a care in the world and they usually get away with just a slap on the wrist, these people cost the likes of the general hard working population £££'s in support centres, medicine and stolen items (because the only way the retailer can protect their margins is by putting the price up) yet this man is made an example of and sent to prison, I think its a disgrace and the Government and Courts should be embarrassed. Unlike the previous member, who agrees that a prison sentence is harsh still refuses to sign for his release? I have signed this petition in just a blink of an eye.

  9. Much as I detest the Tories Cameron is not the only one who MAY have defrauded the tax people and the nation. My problem is what to do about two separate garage owners born and bred and living in Hereford who said they could repair my car for two hundred quid in hand!

If nine other people took their cars to same garages, then tax man would have been defrauded nearly £800! Do I report them and hope their employees do not lose their jobs when the boss spends six months in jail, or do I say to hell with it, and report all the plumbers, sparkies carpet layers and builders that have also offered to do jobs for cash that the tax man and the people should have had. It mounts up to more than Cameron MAY have had without paying tax!

I just ask these questions out of interest as it is easy to have a go at public figures but when your neighbour is doing the same thing, smaller scale but same alleged crime! 'He who is without sin, let him throw the first boulder'

We have discovered nothing new in the recent revelations, it has only confirmed what we all thought, but kept quiet about because the rich have always taken advantage of their tax loops and the rest of us have always looked at ways of copying them!

Actually, I agree with you Chris, there is no difference in my opinion, it is just that the PM is a public figure.

  10. You don't want to know, ok maybe you do, according to the Register in a Article from 2014, it could £15 to £20 million.

i don't like it to be honest, looks like a Euro, like the £2 ones. I hope they don't have the same problems they had with the £2 coin when it was launched. Talking of which have anyone seen a £2 coin for a while?

No surprises from you again then Adrian, I would be keen to learn would does please you.

  11. Ted Nugent just brought to light one important detail that I guarantee none of these Islamic terrorists have even considered. In the Islamic religion, pork and pork products are forbidden because the pig is considered an impure animal. In a Facebook post Ted writes…

Chimps & pigs, a match made in hell. ES&D voodooallahpukes.

Percy the pig makes for an extremely interesting read. I never knew pigs were in most products!!

Every Muslim who has ever handled TNT, Nitro, Bullets, High Explosive Bombs, Rocket Launchers or been treated for cuts injury requiring stitches, or taken antibiotics, or Vitamin Capsules, has been contaminated with Pig Products.

The ironical part is that when a Suicide Bomber blows himself up his body parts are impregnated with Gelatine and Glycerine from the explosive. Both Gelatine and Glycerine are manufactured from Pigs worldwide.. Ergo, they will never be accepted by Allah.

Some makers of cigarettes use haemoglobin from pig’s blood in their filters. Apparently this element works as a sort of ‘artificial lung’ in the cigarette so, they claim, ‘harmful reactions take place before the chemicals reach the user’, (enter the Pig.)

Pig bone gelatine is used to help transport gunpowder or cordite into the bullet. Insulin, the blood-thinning drug heparin and pig heart valves all vital. The complex workings of the global food and processing industry have ensured that it is impossible to avoid pig altogether.

There is no legal obligation for manufacturers to specify whether the gelatine they use is from a pig or another animal. When it is specified, it is often confusingly referred to as Suilline gelatine.

So to all prospective Suicide Bombers, ISIS and innocent, good Muslims, I say, “Have a Nice Day†from “Percy†the wonderful Pig.

Looks like these Muslim terrorists are in for a rude awakening when they reach the afterlife! Thanks for the good news Ted!!
  12. Poland is part of the Schengen area so they have to let in ground migrants from Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. Those are EU rules subject to any temporary suspensions of border controls There won't be many people rushing to Poland tho as the wages are fairly rubbish.

I am sure they are quite happy with that arrangement. I can understand Poland's stance on this issue and I too agree it is their country and good to see that they are putting their citizens safety before anything else.

  13. It's a bit of a joke situation with Zabka because this is the quote from the HT when Zardashit Sahl got his booze licence 12 months ago.

So armed with an existing suspicion, and obviously cheesed off with the committee decision to give him a licence, you would think Zabka would be #1 shop on the list for Trading Standards to keep an eye on. So why was he allowed to sell his illegal tobacco for 12 months before he got raided? I think TS might have been a bit unlucky when they went in as the amount of stuff recovered is barely more than a personal use quantity. People caught with 20 times the amount don't go to jail so he will just get a slapped wrist.

They will pay any fines and just keep selling the dodgy fags, its is a farce.

  14. You got 'Poland' :Surprised_32: into the equation so that will stir the pot even further!

What difference should that make? It should provoke a reaction if the parents were from Hereford or Syria, well maybe not Syria because a lot of those parents put their kids lives in danger daily by placing them in small boats when leaving safe countries.. my comments will draw some attention I'm sure  :Vault:
