Two beggars that used to frequent the doorways of mr singhs shop and the Martha trust (or Marie Currie?) in commercial road, On Friday and Saturday nights. They have a flat in Hinton claim a paycheck off the state to. They go as far as carrying sleeping bags and clothes for that added effect.
Hard to differ between genuine homeless people and scamming scum.

While there are people who can cycle, there are many who have to rely on public transport.
I do have a bike, I have not used it since before I was ill, I am going to get it back on the road for the summer, but to be honest with some of the idiots on the road I am not sure if I want, people who do not indicate, park where they want to, get too close to cyclists.
Saying that I see many cyclists who are no better, going down one way streets the wrong way, riding on pavements, going through red lights, and also thinking that stopping at a zebra crossing when people going across do not apply to them,
We need a reliable and cheap public transport system and not the stupid tram idea that some people are looking at
I agree with everything your have written Adrian with exception to your last paragraph, for me, the tram would be brilliant! I also think it is worth looking into this idea in more detail.
As for buses in Hereford they are a waste of time. There is only one bus in the mornings from Newton Farm to Holmer and I have to change at Tesco in town to catch it! There are plenty from Newton Farm into town but only one from town to Holmer and that arrives an hour earlier than I need, Have to be at work for 9am. So loads of people moaning that people use cars when they could use public transport but the service just in not there.

How is it currently running Andy, volunteers yes?

Well, that is bizarre. A full application, yet all the drawings are marked 'illustrative only' and all are marked by the Council as 'superseded' with nothing in their place. So what are they determining?
Very odd this...

No reason why they cannot install chargers in the main supermarket car park but it would be a waste of time having them in the garage as the trips to the garage are only for a few minutes in most cases.
I agree
-
They have been taking the micky with these exterminate car park charges for far to long.

They are really coming along with the garage, compare this to how slow the roadworks took on the Belmont Rd earlier this year and it highlights who is working is who were dragging their heels.

This week it has been reported that Isis used a commercial drone carrying a explosive charge in which 2 peshmerga fighters were killed while also injuring 2 French special forces soldiers…could there be a possibility that terrorists would use a drone in a attack here in the UK or elsewhere?
Which brings me to the question how would our police force deal with a possible threat of a terrorist attack using drones?
Iraq attack shows deadly potential of 'off-the-shelf' drones
I think we are moving to the bigger picture when it comes to discussing terrorists but in general I think drones for West Mercia Police are certainly worth exploring, they could sweep the great western way a few times a day from a central location, which would be a massive deterrent.

It's private property - they can make as much mess as they want to, but it's not a prosecutable offence. Noise might be a different issue or failure to leave if requested by the owners.
Lets hope they do not read this comment..

This is disgusting, I hope the police catch them ad make an example of them at the same time.

Good observation my friend. It is the same in Portugal and France. I would tend to agree with the latter part of your comments and suggest that our benefit system is abused far too much. Hereford has to have more disabled parking bays than any other city of it's size.

I enjoy cycling the Great Western Way and the access to this large car park seems to go across the new cycle route which then links to the lighted crossing point to go up to Holmer. Surely this site would be better used as social or older people's housing as then there might be enough people to use a pub in the area and it is easy walking into Hereford. Why build a new one when the Heart of Oak has recently closed, and the area has another pub along Grandstand road (well I think it is a pub I have never ventured in there!).
So your telling us that you would object to a new pub offering employment and another place for local people to visit on the grounds that a single carriageway road would cross over a tiny section of your sacred cycle path? Behave!

Good Morning All
I am really pleased that the field has finally been cut as I have raised the issue with several different people and departments over recent months!
As much as I would like to think it was cut on the back of my requests, I am currently unable to establish how it happened since there is no contract currently in place to cover that piece of land. So as much as I would love to claim the credit, I will just say I am very happy to see it has been done.
Going forward I am hoping the Parish Council will be able to add the cutting of this field to the list of jobs to be covered by the handyman or ask BBLP to add it to their list. This will mean the Parish Council would need to pay for that service and it will obviously be dependant on the Parish Councillors agreeing to it. However, I have asked that it be considered by them.
Also, just to let everyone know I have been chasing BBLP about the state of the edges of the brooks through the estate, that fact that they are overgrown, full of debris (including shopping trolleys) and generally pose a risk. The grass is so tall in certain parts that people are not aware of how steep the banks are and that a brook lies underneath the grass! The subject was discussed with BBLP during a recently meeting involving them, myself and the Parish Clerk.
After several chases BBLP have now confirmed the edges are scheduled to be cut back and the debris removed in the near future.
Excellent work Councillor thank you for all your hard work and the updates.

What a joke, this is the most stupid thing I have seen in ages, cones around nothing with traffic lights to control traffic. This could of been planner much better and with the least amount of upheaval possible.

I remember the German people clapping their hands when these refugees/migrants arrived at the train station, I bet they were not clapping at this train station last night. I fear more events in Germany are inevitable. The countries that said no and the countries that put up fences appear to be the safest in Europe, good on them for protecting and putting their citizens safety first.
It has all gone rather quiet on this debate now..

This lady is clearly lucky to be alive and what a fantastic brave neighbour.

Congratulations to the SAS on 75 years of service, you should all be very proud

When did it close? I have vague recollections of pulling up outside the chippy in the mid 80's during school holidays after going shopping with my mum to get a dinnertime treat and seeing the buckets and bobs outside
TBH I am not entirely sure but I seem to remember sometime early 80's?

No relation of mine I can assure you but some super photographs, these must of been taken in the 60's or early 70's looking at the car parked.

Some great photos here, keep them coming although I do follow HV on Instagram

I do not think anyone was hurt, thankfully. This was near to Oakley's yard.
