The area you mention is a total mess, cannot believe that it is just been left as it is to be honest.

I agree, how sad that there will be a nice clean new building project and this eyesore will probably remain untouched. :Hmm:

People are living in those cottages

I understand that but the land next to them is for sale from my understanding...I wonder if HH approached the people in these cottages in an attempt to purchase them before they submitted their plans for the new building works.

I am surprised that Hereford Housing never purchased the cottages to make the new apartments go all the way around, there is a fenced off area where Ray Bubbs used to be full of weeds that have now turned into mini trees it looks a right eyesore.

That area that used to be Ray Bubbs is a right mess, full of weeds, pity they never knocked the lot down before they started with the new build

A MAN who is accused of attempting to steal from a Hereford chip shop with an imitation firearm has appeared in magistrates court this morning.

Two women working at The Welcome Fish Bar on Widemarsh Street were ordered to fill a bag up with money by the man wearing a balaclava at around 6.50pm on Monday night.

However, they laughed at the robber who picked up the bag and left.

A second incident is reported to have taken place at around 8.30pm the same evening.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached near to the car park on Greyfriars Avenue, by an unknown man who asked for a cigarette.

The offender is believed to have threatened the man, with what is reported to be a gun, and demanded he hand over any money he had. The offender made off with a sum of cash.

Peter Evans, 30, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and one count of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Chiedza Keene, 26, of Geoffrey Avenue, Hereford has been charged with one count of handling stolen goods.

Both attend Hereford Magistrates Court this morning.

Evans has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Worcester Crown Court in March.

Keene has been released on court bail, to attend on Worcester Crown Court on the same date.
