Happy new year lets hope 2018 is a fantastic year

Happy Xmas people :)

I drove past earlier this evening and it looks like the trailer has gone.
-
On the one hand, it's good that these services are being maintained/offered, but it's a bloody ugly box though!
Also, I love the way it says "CASH" above the cash machine and "CASH" above the phone!
Very ugly
-
The traditional phone box as we know it is disappearing.
-
This is unbelievable really, I mean how much is the trailer worth? Hard to believe someone would just dump a lorry trailer like this.

This is pretty dramatic stuff surprised that nobody was hurt

New parking meters should of been turned on after Christmas, so the timing was not the best however, I can now parking in Broad Street for an hour now for a £1 which is ideal for me when I need to go and get my haircut or nip into M&S. It costs much more than this to park in the OLM but that does not stop people, their car park is always busy. Vouchers are not a bad idea and shows the council are listening but it would of been much easier to have just turned the meters off like H Wilson has pointed out.
I can't say I disagree with you on this one.
-
How many new sets of traffic lights?
-
And after Christmas....These Councillors don't give a toss.As long as they can make money from other peoples misery then its fine.
The council have to make revenue so if they were to reverse the parking meters your council tax would go up. If I am honest paying a pound or so to park is not really a problem for me, most cities have parking meters these days so Hereford is not alone by any means.
-
This is a good idea and at least the council have listed to the local traders

Well done, excellent work here

Perfect location for me yum yum

I have been told the leak has been running since Sunday 5pm - 48 hours ago. Welsh Water asked for the shop wall to be taken down to get to leak which the shop did immediately, but no one has shown up today to fix the leak, so it just keeps running down the drain.
Unbelievable I wonder if their meter will tell them how much they have wasted?

Paul, yes you are correct. In the small garden where the cross is at the end of St. Martins Street.
I was never sure if that was a private area to the house next door, so I guess this is open to the public?
-
I like the look of these plans, lets hope that they are passed. It looks like it would be gated complex so pretty secure too.
-
Where in St Martins Street is the Cenotaph? Is it the Crucifix?

Just to address the last part of your previous comment above.
You could argue that there are also a lot of fair, respectful, thoughtful and downright scared people in cars that feel bullied by much bigger vehicles, such as lorries, buses, vans and even larger cars. My wife is terrified of driving on busy roads and dual carriageways in her little car and will only drive on a motorway if absolutely essential. Her view, which I share is that the police and authorities need to tighten up on ALL ROAD USERS and make it a safer place for all. If you were seen be a copper riding on a footpath then would pull over and instruct you to get off your bike and walk, these days they just drive past, which in my view is encouraging even more! This was never really an issue growing up, yes granted there are more vehicles on the roads these days but equally there are also more cyclists, the answer is NOT riding cycles on footpaths, that is just down right selfish with absolutely no consideration for pedestrians or pets.
I think what I find annoying about cyclists is many claim to be victims and will wear head cams to catch out the odd motorists when in reality they are often not much better, it is all about me me me.
I totally agree. The law is there for a reason.

After a closer look at part of the City wall by Trekkit I am utterly shocked at the state it is in.
Huge cracks have developed from root damage in various parts of the wall.
This needs urgent attention.
Unreal how this has just been left to fall apart.
-
I have been monitoring this topic and I am really quite surprised at how frequent people actually ride their bikes on footpaths, this is pretty dangerous for pedestrians particularly on narrow footpaths. I also was not really aware of how bad this problem has become, the police should enforce the law, I remember as a kid growing up, police would always tell you to get off your bikes and were hot on no lights etc.

Well done to everyone who have got behind Colin's project at the duck pond, it already looks 100% better.

Sad that we will have another empty shop in town.
