  1. Hello Raymond, we have the same problem south of the ricer too. The people who own the houses have a duty to keep the footpaths clear of their own hedges and tree's, I agree with Denise, speak with you local councillor, name they can discuss this with the owners of the offending overgrowth directly or possible even send them a letter outlining the issues that this is causing pedestrians.

Its still not finished and its been years, what ever is going on, finish it.  Does it really need to take this long to complete a few apartments. When I pass by I hardly ever see anyone working on the site.

What are you on about years? They only knocked the Ship pub down last August, work was delayed for a few weeks when we had the snow (beat from the east) other than that I believe that they are more or less on schedule.

I have made a point to Jim Kenyon on a video complied by Your Herefordshire on their FB page about the traffic lights which Jim is featured in but Jim has made no reference to Hereford Voice or any of the other people that have been involved in the continued campaign you have been running trying to get these traffic lights turned off. I think it would of been just a little appropriate if Jim has made a reference to this long campaign because right now he is getting all the credit for the idea and that does not sit well with me. Jim is a good guy and I always support him but some recognition was in order here imo

I find it annoying that JK appears to claim the credit like he has just thought if it, when it is other peoples ideas and long running campaigns, generally a good bloke but loves his name/photo in the paper. :Hmm:

  4. Inquest article taken from the HT:

A 62-YEAR-old suffering with tinnitus died after falling from the Great Western Way bridge in Hereford.

An inquest at Herefordshire Coroner's Court heard that David Rowberry of Litley Close, Hereford was pronounced dead at the scene on January 12.

He fell from the bridge on the Hunderton side of the River Wye onto the ground below.

The inquest was told that Mr Rowberry had developed tinnitus in October last year. He had been to see an ear, nose and throat specialist and also his doctor.

He told his GP he had been having suicidal thoughts as the tinnitus was "driving him insane", but he said he felt his family was a protective factor.

Witness Adam Daniel said he was walking along the river bank towards Hereford when he heard a noise and then saw a body beyond the tunnel.

He called 999 at 6.19am and police officers attended within minutes. Mr Rowberry was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

His wife, Cheryl Rowberry, said he was a family guy and they were all very close. She added: "He was one of the most generous people you could come across."

Mr Rowberry had got up early on January 12 and left the house without saying goodbye, which was unusual.

Son Philip Rowberry said they did not believe it was rational, conscious decision. He said: "There has never been a sign anywhere of premeditation of wanting to take his life."

Coroner Mark Bricknell said: "I am not satisfied beyond all reasonable doubt he intended to kill himself. I am not satisfied he didn't just fall while going through a very difficult thought process that morning."

He recorded a narrative conclusion, which means he will record the date and place of death. Mr Rowberry died from multiple injuries.

    All very sad.

    From: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/feb/28/prezzo-restaurant-chain-to-close-a-third-of-its-uk-branches yesterday:

"The Italian restaurant chain Prezzo is to close a third of its 300 UK branches, putting about 1,000 jobs at risk, the latest victim of the casual dining crunch.

The chain, owned by the US private equity group TPG Capital, hopes to engineer a turnaround plan echoing steps taken by the burger chain Byron and Jamie’s Italian to keep themselves afloat.

Prezzo’s creditors will be asked to approve proposals under which its restaurants’ landlords accept rent reductions.

About 100 unprofitable outlets are likely to close altogether, including all branches of its Tex-Mex offshoot, Chimichanga, in an attempt to put the business on a sound long-term financial footing.

While landlords have yet to agree to the plan – known as a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) – it is expected to result in about 1,000 of the 4,500-strong UK workforce losing their jobs.

Sources close to the company said staff would be transferred to the surviving restaurants where possible."

This was posted in this topic yesterday my friend.

  6. This is a difficult one to reply to, this man is in obvious need of help and from my understanding from a local friend he was getting a lot of help from various health authorities. He is clearly is huge danger to other people so not sure what the best solution is here without being politically correct. He has murdered his mother, yes we could argue that he probably didn't realise what he was doing, so what now? The help he was receiving was not working and there is probably no real cure here either, secure hospital?
