Hereford Voice
The river Wye in Hereford is very high and fast flowing this morning. If this rainfall continues for a few more days we may see the river burst its banks. I spoke with my daughter this morning and she tells me the both river bridges in Brecon are closed. Ubique
It's way over its bank at Builth Wells so it won't be long before it arrives in the City .

Hereford Voice
A full size raft was stuck under the old bridge this morning but the fast current soon dislodged it and it now heading further down river.
Steve Major
I just cycled over the old bridge and the river has burst banks, the footpath towards the downing club is blocked.
Denise Lloyd
Poor people who have had their homes flooded. A lady from South Wales was being interviewed on the news last night she said she did not have insurance and didn't think any of the house holders in her road were covered either. Buildings and contents is not that expensive couple of pound a week surely for your own piece of mind it should be one of your priorities.
adamski
Denise, she probably meant she wasn't covered specifically for flooding, which is quite often the case if you live in an area liable to flooding. Bit like not being able to get earthquake insurance if you live on a volcano!!
Denise Lloyd
Pretty sure on that report it said that area had not flooded for 30 years. I would say there are a lot of people who do not have contents insurance

How is insurance a 'couple of pound' a week if you might get flooded? My insurance is more than £2 a week and I live on top of a hill.
Denise Lloyd
Roger firstly all things are relative I rather suspect you probably live in a house that is in keeping with your place in society! Secondly if you live on the third floor of a block of flats are you going to worry about the risk of flooding? Thirdly if you read through the posts you will see the lady being interviewed said the area had not been flooded for 30 years
