  1. A Korean BBQ restaurant is soon to open at the old market ocupying the former ChimiChanga restaurant. Shopfitters are currently inside transforming it ready for opening soon. Korean barbecue or ‘gogi-gui’ is about cooking marinated meats at the table on charcoal or gas grills. The meats come in a variety of cuts, such as bulgogi, thin slices of sirloin or tenderloin, which are very popular and can be flavoured with a variety of marinades among the likes of soy, garlic, and chilli. Another crowd-pleaser, which you may see often on Korean menus, is galbi, which are short ribs,
  2. To be honest you would have to be mad to open a shop along there
  3. I have just found some pictures of three proposed buildings that were to be built on the steel suppliers site just off Widemarsh Street. The plans have now been shelved but the timber merchants next door has now shut with demolition of buildings taking place in readiness for building new Uni student accommodation. I hope that whatever is built there is nothing like the horrendous images you can see below of what was proposed for the old steel site.
  4. Well we missed out on the Town funding scheme that looks to have been given mostly to Tory constituencies. Things are starting to smell.
  5. Oh wait .....🤔 We would still of needed to get this through the Council if we had been sucsessful.
  6. Quite a lot of Cities around the word have allowed the use of e- scooters with varying restrictions with most only allowing them to be used on roads and cycle lanes, with a min age and wearing of a helmet. Some require registration and even insurance.
  7. Both E bikes & Scooters are a great idea but the Scooters must have a min age to use in my opinion.
  8. You would be surprised just how much some businesses take in a day. One certain business on a retail park in Hereford takes over a million most months of the year.
  9. In a time of doom and gloom on the High Street some positive movement on the two empty restaurants on the Old Market site. Both Prezzo and Chimichenga units are under offer. https://www.realla.co.uk/details/13157948
  10. Had a run in with one of those flower tubs in Broad Street that has caused nearly a grands worth of damage to my vehicle.Saw a gap between the cars already parked there and reverse parked into the available space only to hear a scraping noise low down on my van.
  11. The growth of the City over the next decade there will be a need for more multi storey car parks especially when Merton Meadow is turned into housing etc. To me the bus station in Commercial Road is probably the best location for having one. Traffic lights along the Link Road were a huge & expensive mistake, the ones on Widemarsh St need removing asap and a roundabout along the lines of the one in Cambridge that gives pedestrians and cyclists priority is the way to go.
  12. They do seem to pick & choose what needs to be repaired or replaced & I'd of thought these barriers would be top priority. Take the barriers that were knocked down on the Starting gate roundabout a month ago and were replaced within three weeks and the same type of barriers in Belmont Road going to Waterfield Road that were knocked down before Christmas and still not been done.
  13. Or what was originally planned ,a multi storey car park with consession parking for Hospital staff. What happend to this idea? Is it still on the plans.
  14. What happened to the trial turning off of the Asda lights after you were given aproval from Highways England to do so.
  15. Indeed it did Frank. Not only did he have a licence to maintain the trees in an SSSI he was also at a meeting on the bridge overlooking the embankment with local Councillors, residents and three people from the Enviroment Agency who told him to 'get on with it'. This whole situation has been handled very badly by the EA and I hope there will be an apology from Dave Throup in the local papers to John Price. .Its the least he deserves.
  16. You would of thought top priroty would be to do.Problem with this Council always doing things arse backwards.
  17. They now have to find 12 million to pay for nothing.
  18. I agree to a certain level that the by pass will not solve our problems with internal traffic. The reason it is needed is because we have to build some 6-10,000 homes over the next 10 to 15 years and beyond. We simply do not have the locations within the City to do so and will be expanding the City limits as we are now.Couple that with another 1,400 homes just off Three Elms Road and and we are heading for trouble. Nobody listens to people concerns,Cllr Harington is all mouth no action and the rest of them have no idea how to resolve the traffic issues in the City apart from telling people to use a bike.
  19. The incompetence of this council excluding this decision is shameful. From wasting millions on this, millions in overspend on the link road and new offices. The appalling shambles of the fownhope road repairs.the decision not to go ahead with the turning off Belmont island lights.no measures taken to ease the flow of traffic through the city. What we did get is a closed bridge that has had a detrimental effect on trade, flower tubs and a bus lane to nowhere.
  20. As others have pointed out on other news outlets this was not a snow man just a melting mound of snow.
