  1. Councillor, you clearly DO NOT check and double check everything or we would not be getting these incorrect statements, so please read my post again, I said I was not being nasty at all but some of the things that your were reporting were incorrect and it was confusing people (ie. silver foil) I also said that your work is appreciated, I just knew that you would take offence with a reply as you have done,it seems that some people cannot handle constructive criticism only the credit, nevermind.

Cllr Powell cannot take any form of being told "she was wrong" about something, thought you knew that Victor? hence, her reply to you, even though you had taken the time to write a constructive response without being nasty at all.

Glenda, yes they were Amey staff!
I have today met with Neil Davies from Amey who informed me that the reason that the tree's have not been collected is because 2 members of the pilot team needed training to be able drive with a trailer (wood chipper) and that they will be returning tomorrow.

We also both agreed on several area's that need additional work to be carried out before the job is completed, which will happen tomorrow at the same time.

Thank you Neil for all your help today. Thumbs-Up.png

    Good effort Colin  :Happy_32:
  3. I only have the small wheelie bin and it is always full so lid never close properly, and yes they do look they always have done! as I said to Colin yesterday I did not receive any stickers with my bin other than the white one to put my address and house number on.

Well then you are probably the only person who did not receive the sticker pack... If you have a look on all the wheelie bins they all have stickers, plain white to put your number on and in that same pack were the other stickers, you must of missed those, but the other stickers have a list of al the item that can be placed in the bins. Have a look at your neighbours next time they put them out and you will see what I mean. There was loads about all this stuff in the papers for weeks leading up to the wheelie bins being distributed so I am surprised that you did not know about the foil...I would like to see the letter you have, can you post it on here because I think you may of misread it.

  4. We had this problem at Argyll Rise this was Hereford Housing they left all the cut trees for a few days, and there were young children climbing over them. When they start a job they should finish it.And not leave them so people could get hurt.

    I totally agree :Thumbs-Up:

  5. I have always recycled even before we had the wheeley bins, in the purple bags. Just one correction to your list above YOU CAN recycle silver foil containers and wrap as long as it is clean.

Sorry to disagree with you Councillor but please read the orange section NO FOIL.

    Q. Why can I no longer put foil in my recycling?

    A. There are a number of reasons why you can no longer put foil in your recycling. Firstly, it acts like paper in the sorting process making it difficult to separate. It also accounts for a negligible amount of the commingled recycling (approx 0.001%) and would take up valuable storage space at EnviroSort which can be more beneficially used for other materials.

    Envirosort

    If you want to recycle foil you will need to take it to;

    Hereford City HWS/ TLS

    Chapel Lane, Rotherwas, HR2 6LD

    Waste types:

Mixed Metal Food & Drink Cans

    Car Oil

    Shoes

    Car Batteries

    Steel Food & Drink Cans

    Garden Waste

    All Plastic Bottles

    Scrap Wood

  6. I was having an argument with a friend. Can someone please clarify what area is considered as South Wye and what is Belmont and the difference when the word ward is added?

I have tried searching all the local sites to see if I can find you a map of the area's in question but without luck.

  7. Well that website is hardly used or updated as the last published minutes on that website are May. Could you send them to the administrator here so that he can publish them for us to read please. I think his email is admin@belmontvoice.co.uk

Spot on, but a copy would be nice.

  8. That is what Amey call cutting the grass? why have they not cut it properly? that is so annoying, they had the kit and personnel on site and they can't be bothered to do the job right,   didn't she like the stinging nettles and weeds along the kerbside then? stupid thing is she would of had to of lifted the strimmer over the weeds in order to strim the grass along that little verge. Thumbs-Down.png

  9. Who ever selects these colours for choice? they all sound horrible, I mean pale blue? more sate of tax payers money, and yes don't be surprised when you find out what it has cost for that disgusting colour, looks worse than ever now in my opinion. :Thumbs-Down: :Thumbs-Down:

  10. I am a local resident and this idea sounds good. St Francis would be an ideal place to have the hub, but it would need tidying up or refurbishing at the very least. :Thumbs-Up:

Kids and fires seem to be popular especially on Friday nights, the NEW Police station could do with being open 24hours from say Friday 5pm - Sunday 4pm this would help!! That Police station has been a complete waste of money as it is hardly open at all!!! :Thumbs-Down:

First of all, welcome to the forum Andy :Happy_32:

As a local resident I agree with everything that Frank has said, especially about the police station. St Francis would be a good place to use as a hub.

There is a major lack of police presence in Newton Farm this is one of the biggest issues in my opinion.

  11. I have come to the conclusion that it obviously doesn't matter what Amey or I say in explaination to the posts WE ARE WRONG! I have received further information in regards to the restrictions, but in the circumstances I do not feel it is worth advising you all, as you do not believe what is said! as far as I am concerned this discussion is going nowhere end of!!!

Oh dear, Slightly unprofessional I would say. Your not going to advise us now on further information in regards to restrictions, how childish is that remark? nevertheless, not interested as one rule for one and another rule for us.

I think this is a really good debate and sometimes you will get questions thrown in, but is that not what a debate is about?

You do not need to keep explaining what restrictions amey have got to follow, i think we got the message on that, but the other questions about yellow boxes and road markings as another member said are valued ones. Walnut tree ave, well spotted, i totally totally agree that now amey have repainted this yellow box then they must have now taken ownership of it, so the questions being asked are fair ones. It is irrelivent that it has been there for a long time, if it is wrong now then it should of been corrected last week. I am going to contact the DOT myself and ask the question, unless Amey would like to comment and put us straight with facts rather than opinion.

  12. As a Councillor you are free to voice disquiet, to protest, to shout and to scream if necessary to get the job done.....walking about being nice is great but there are times when being nice just aint good enough!

As for disparaging remarks.....they are nothing of the sort...the facts are the original job by the contractors is a complete failure and a waste of time and money...the solution is simple part-time traffic lights end of...not some disjointed Heath Robinson attempt at traffic control....

Agree with you. Mr James originally requested yellow boxes back 3 years ago, so t has taken this long to get anything done, which in my opinion is unexceptable. I appreciate that Cllr Powell has had discussions with the contractors, but 3 years!!

Mr James has also pointed out various other signs around the city which are bigger than the new ones, but has been given excuses that these were already in place and were not Amey's doing, so it seems to me that there is no consistency or not when it suits anyway.

I might add I was met whilst 'walking around' at the weekend by residents from Belmont who actually thank me for having the signs put in, as they have found it easier to get onto the roundabout now!
????? You must be on the same planet as another local Cllr who made the same comments,

IT IS NOT WORKING WELL! SEE PICTURES.

    post-2-13008731883103.jpg

  13. I have spoken with Amey today to ask if the signs can be extended further into the road I am waiting for them to come back to me. Amey has seen what you all have written, whilst I understand your frustration as local councillor I hope you realise I cannot coment on your disparaging remarks towards Amey.

To be fair, it is not rocket science, anyone with half a brain can clearly see that the work they have done renders pretty useless, come on!

A KEEP CLEAR sign is making a command/statement and this hardly does that does it? lets hope this is rectified asap.

I would suggest that they over paint the signs and re paint newer march larger and central to the road signs, going from the juctions to the edge of the roundabout.
