Would you like someone to park their car on your drive for 10 mins without asking?

Actually, I did go to ask if it was okay to park for 10 mins but the club was all locked up (so please do not assume that I just parked and walked off). I am also a member of the club, which was the best part.

Eventually after receiving quite a few nasty worded and threatening letters I asked the club if they would get in touch with this company for me, which to be fair they did but the letters kept coming, after several letters and phones calls from both the club and myself, they reluctantly stopped hounding me.

I have read a lot of the articles mentioned above and this is obviously a scam, of that, I have no doubt. I suppose they prey on the vulnerable and as someone has mentioned, the play the percentage game. Panorama had a documentary on these types of scams about a month ago which highlighted the cowboy firms.
Thank you to everyone who has offered their advice above, really appreciated.

Which in my opinion is not that different to the BRPC SCAM either!

As far as the brpc discussion goes, i am of the same opinion as many others on here. Both of these topics amount to the same thing! They are both it in for the money, so keep up the good work with your fabulous website

  2. There is always someone Bobby in the wings trying to trip someone else up, not quite sure what she is supposed to of said or done, but she has upset someone with nothing better to do than moan I am sure. I bet its nothing serious at the end of the day, certainly not worth worrying about. Councillor Powell has her heart in the right place to be fair to her.

You are probably not far from the truth here Bill, I think there is an agenda to get rid of Councillor Powell, always has been in my opinion.

  3. Thank you Bobby for your swift reply, I also have noted that some comments have been made in the minutes of BRPC minutes. I was asked to keep my conversation private and have done so, but clearly BRPC have not...It would of been courteous for them to of informed me and also I notice that they have childishly removed the link back to our website here even though they had initially agreed, so it seems that if you do not do what they want they do odd things like this...Hmmm I am now going to contact someone at the Hereford Times for a brief discussion and also take legal advice as I am now being discriminated against by them removing their link, even though our link to their site remains in place. We as members of the public are funding the BRPC website aren't we....

Nice of the BRPC to inform you of the outcome Colin, I hardly see how your at fault here or does freedom of speech not exist within the BRPC? :Thumbs-Down:

  4. I was parked in the Welsh Club car park for no more than about 10 minutes early this morning, while I dropped off my son to play football on the meadows, when I got back there was a guy putting a ticket on my car. I have been told by a friend now that I should not pay it because it is not a penalty, can anyone else through any light on this please?

  5. I have asked for these lights to be turned off perminantly! I also put it in my press story to the Journal as part of my story about Rockfield closing to make way for the 'road to no where' relief road. For a while at this weekend I thought Herefordshire Council had listened, then I found out there was something wrong with the lights.

These lights clearly need to be left off, why are the Council not sitting there and comparing traffic when the lights are on and the lights are off?

  6. Traffic was much lighter for most of yesterday, so I have to agree that the traffic definately flows much better when these traffic lights are not on. Tey must be fixed now though as I noticed that late yesterday they were back on unfortunately. I am surprised that local Councillors have not tried to get these lights turned off as it clearly reduces traffic building up like it does normally all the way out to the Clehongher turning most days.

  7. Cllr Powell actually contacted Amey in February if you have a read through so this has taken 5 months and nothing has been done about it, I think this is disgusting! Amey need to get their act together, cannot believe they gave the excuse that they did not know where the posts are located! how did they give a job number if they did not know where these posts are????????? I have read through mosts of the posts on here where members have reported posts and 99% tell you where each post is, some are located in St Martins and Putson too but it is so obvious where they are. :Angry_32:

Could not agree more Chris about the traffic, the lights should never have been put there in the first place. Anyone know what happened on Good Friday afternoon, I went into town on bus all lights were RED and the build up of traffic was on both the A49, A465 and both bridges everything was at a stanstill.

I think that was just a normal afternoon on Belmont Road Glenda  :Winky:
  9. Colin, I walked along the GWW yesterday lunchtime taking note of things to be done, frankly i am annoyed this work has not been done, this is the 6th time I have reported this, and this time I have bypast the officers and gone straight to their manager. let's see how long it will take again.

Maybe its time the council looked for a better contractor?

  10. I think Colin James has written a very good response above and has considered all. I would have no objections to another filling station and I agree it would keep prices down locally, which is a very valid point Thumbs-Up.png

I have also done some digging around on the Hereford Times website and found this article

Councillor Ursula Attfield said: "In 50 years I cannot recall anyone coming forward to develop the area."

"To refuse this would leave us with the traffic problem, flood concerns and an empty unused derelict site on our doorstep."

Councillor Stuart Thomas picked up on the traffic issue and explained how the superstore would help solve congestion.

"We have used up the benefits of the new bridge and we all know the problems people in the south of the city face when crossing the river," he said.

"The proposed changes, which will be funded by the applicants, will allow 40% to 50% more traffic to move through the roundabout."

Councillor Bob Preece, who has lived in the area all his life, said: "I have never known the place to flood, it may have been a bit boggy at times, but it has never been serious."

I find is amusing that Councillor Bob Preece actually opened the store as the Mayor in 2006 and he is one of the Councillors now objecting.

Having a small unmanned filling station will not make hardly any difference, the GP Walk in Centre has had no impact on the traffic so why should a small filling station be any different?
