  1. Hi, I would like to ask:

    1. Wonder how much of the Demolition material will go in land fill?

    2. What are going to happen long term to the prefebs, far older then the flats?

Hello Mike and I see you are a new member so first of all welcome to HV. I had the same discussion with someone only yesterday, surely those pre fabs have well out lasted their initial life span? So yes some good questions.

  2. The problem is ongoing. No one in authority can see the rubbish and wants to do anything about it. That's why I pick it up every Sunday morning.

Remember the rubbish down the embackment on Great Western Way reported back in 2010 - it's still there.

What a joke! 3 years later and it's still there, that is unbelievable!!

I walked along the GWW yesterday afternoon and I accept that CVP has done a lot getting Amey to clear a load of brush and brambles back there are still loads of overgrown area's and I would hardly feel safe, walking along here after the hours of dark, what ever happened to the extra lighting and possible CCTV that was discussed back in 2010?

  3. I caught yet another dog owner not picking up their dogs sh*t.The excuse is always the same I came out with no bag.

I filmed her too...Want to see the vid  :Happy_32:

Yeah, shame her it's disgusting! You could also report her if you know where she lives to the council because it's an offence and a fine is due to her I think.

  4. Standard HT procedure - delete and ban anything that questions their content or motives. The editor is the biggest moron around, acts completely unprofessionally and really shouldn't be running the paper.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Your safe from all that crap here, welcome to the club, it's good to have you here.  :Thumbs-Up:

  5. yes you are right the shop flats were painted in the summer of last year, when they did all the alterations to the other flats so that they match. In the redevelopment of the Oval the shops and flats above will not be demolished because I said the shop owners  would not come back, and they echo what I said, and lets face it we need the little shops. I remember about 30 years ago we had a little 'community of shops' butchers, chemist, greengrocer, post office, baby shop etc were all at the Oval which in my opinion we need back especially with 259 properties being built around there. For once HHL listened to what  the people said, the flats will be modernised to a high standard. As the local councillor living in the area of development I sit on the housing management group for the development to over see that the tenants moving out are disrupted as little as possible with a new development, they will be help to move where they want to go if they are not coming back to the new development, either way, I have made sure they will not be financially out of pocket, and HHL has agreed to this.

They would look a lot better with some modern cladding and the shops could do with a face lift, especially the ones around the back. These flats above the sops look not a lot different from the flats that are being demolished.

  6. H.Wilson, you have got the information mixed up. The flats that were upgraded and received new windows are the two storey two bedroom flats and three bedroom cornish houses in the streets behind the Oval, which included the flats that were bought. The cost to these people who have bought their flats was nearly £7,000 each for the renovations, tenants of HHL had their rents increased, which is normal practise by HHL every year. If you live in a block of two storey flats and you have bought yours any renovations done is a quarter of the total price to those people.

Thank you CVP, you are right I am confusing the different flats. I was sure work had been recently done on these flats especially the ones around the shops, were they not painted or something?

  7. I have been reading all about the up and coming Oval regeneration starting in the next few months. Is it me or did they recently put all new windows and generally upgrade/revamp all the the flats? If this is the case why did they spend all this money if they are all being knocked down shortly?

  8. I have noticed for sometime now that a few councillors have it in for councillor Vaughan-Powell in particular Phil Edwards, well he now has more egg on his pantomime face, good on you councillor Vaughan-Powell for standing by your principles. I think it's disgusting, councillors should be seen to work together not trying to constantly trip each other up in order to gain a few more brownie points, I remember councillor Edwards once mocking the Mayors status and claiming it was a waste of money, funny that eh

I saw out Mayor in his nice personalised BMW only the other day, not on his bike anymore then.

  9. Coming to Comedy Club at the Hereford Courtyard Theatre? Then why not take advantage of our Curry Night and make a proper night of it? Whenever there’s a Comedy Club The Cafe Bar rustle up a delectable meat and veggie curry with rice or naan bread to ticket holders for £8. If you want to be sure you don’t miss out – people who like laughing seem to like their curry! – and you fancy a 25% discount then book in advance by calling the Box Office and get your curry at £6, either when you book your tickets, or just add it on after. The next one is November 4th when Andy Parsons is on stage, should be a great night.

  10. Taken from HT:

Only the driver was on board the bus at the time of the crash, while there were two people in the car.

The car driver sustained a shoulder injury and was taken to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment, while the passenger was also taken to the same hospital as a precaution.

    The bus driver was uninjured.

Sean Bailey, station commander at Hereford Fire Station, said that crews had to cut off the roof of the car.

Both vehicles have since been recovered and the road is now open.

  11. Good for you Mr Chappell, and in future, when we disagree, and we surely will, then you use all your literary skills and heap as much rancid rubbish upon my head as you wish. I never take things personally and, believe it or not, I often like getting a tongue lashing when I deserve it. Welcome to Hereford Voice. Mind, TwoWheels is right, I've noticed it. You've clumsily given me an extra vowel and pocketed a consonant. My handle ain't Booby47 and I'll be damned if I let this pass without saying, return my letter 'b' and keep your bloody 'o' to yourself.

Once again, my very warmest regards to you.

ha ha you are funny booby47 oops I mean bobby47  :Blushing_32:

  12. Councillor Edwards have taken credit for their instalation, so any new information is left to him to put in there.

Hardly credit Councillor, he would of got more credit if he had of organised the removal of the old blue South Wye notice boards scattered about because they are just an eye sore! :Thumbs-Down:
