  1. Alex. I did not appreciate your remark, yes I was elected to represent the people of the Belmont Ward, and have done so continuously for the past 8 years. I have and I am still continuing to deal with the complaints lodged here! In regard to your comment 'are you only interested in the glory' with respect if you knew me better you would know I am here 100% for the people of my ward, and I can assure you there is no glory in being a councillor! I became a councillor to improve the area that I represent, NOT for any accolade!

I was referring to you suggesting that we contact Amey direct, surely that is down to you to deal with as our repesentative...

  2. May I suggest that you contact Joanne Davies at Amey and put your questions direct to her.

In regard to the diagrams sent to councillors:

    1. Yes I received the diagrams, I advised they were not very clear.

    2. I did object, and ask as I have said for the size to be increased

    3. you saw the answer I received that I posted here yesterday.

With respect to Councilor Powell, I thought you were elected to represent the contituents of Belmont, so should you not be dealing with these complaints or are you only interested in the glory?

  3. Stopping parents photographing and videoing our kids takes away the magic and innocence of Christmas and children's school plays and events.

The is ridiculous and I am pleased that your are challenging this Colin, 100% agree with you and petition signed.

Still no comment from any councilors I see, trouble with this is everyone is paranoid!! :Angry_32:

There is no law preventing you photographing your kids, I have read through your blog on the petition site and found this often not to be the schools problem but a reflection of the society that we live in.

    Spot on Jane :Smile_32:

  4. i have requested some for Newton Farm and Hunderton, so far none have been placed anywhere in Belmont Ward.

I have been advised this morning by Amey that at the moment grit stocks are running low, there is enough grit for another twelve days for whole of Herefordshire as it stands, but they are expecting another delivery before Christmas and again end of January 2011.

End of January? be too late then! this country is never prepared! :Angry_32: floods next and they won't be ready for that either.

  5. I fully agree with Colin's reply above. He has explained it perfectly, nobody can be blamed here that's just a load of rubbish and is just an escape goat on behalf of BR.

If other councillors choose not to join the site, then that can only be down to them, what do they fear? as someone has already said, are these elected councillors not professional then? they refuse to join because they possibly object to another councillor being on here? how pathetic and child like! They should rise above all of that and contribute in helping out, answering questions where they can, giving information to their constituents and not worrying about someone else.

Quite happy to canvas for our votes though and they will be sniffing around come next May, of that I am sure.

This site could be very useful to them, I am finding it very useful myself.

Roger it seems that you have some other issues with Cllr Powell as you are constantly moaning about her. To be fair to her she has tried very hard to help and advise on here and I appreciate that.

Well said, I have read a few posts complaining about the BR closing, sorry but I have the same view as above.

  6. Found it within August 2009 minutes a bit cheaper than £4000 but still very expensive.

Notice board for Dorchester Way £1,650.00

    VAT thereon £247.50

    Total payment: £1,897.50

    83/09 Clerk's Report

    (a) Notice Board

It was noted that the notice board for Dorchester Way has now been delivered. The Clerk has received two quotations for installation amounting to £200 - £300 and £195.00. Both quotations deliver the project within the agreed budget. The Clerk was authorised to accept the lower quotation and arrange for installation.

Still over £2000, seems a lot to me.

  7. You are correct in regard to cost of the notice board in Belmont, I do not know what the end result was as I am no longer a parish councillor, and no longer receive the parish council paperwork.

The result was published in September 2009 minutes but I cannot find the cost of the notice board.

    105/09 Dorchester Way Notice Board

Some members attended a site visit to the proposed location of the new notice board for Dorchester Way and discussed a note from Councillor Stuart Taylor who was unable to attend the meeting regarding a suitable location. After some discussion, it was proposed by Councillor Powell that the notice board be located in the middle of a rectangle of grass adjacent to the CH7 footpath where it crosses Dorchester Way, set forward approximately 2 meters from the timber rail boundary to Abbey View Park East. The proposal was unanimously agreed. It was further agreed that the board be set at a height so that it can be easily read and that paving slabs be embedded immediately surrounding the board so that those who wish to read it can do so without slipping on wet grass. The use of gravel was discussed and rejected on the grounds that gravel might damage lawn mowers and might be used as missiles by vandals.

The Clerk was instructed to make the necessary arrangements with the contractor and to give notice of the intended work on the Community Website.

Finally it was agreed that consideration be given to reviewing the Communications Policy with regard to advising neighbouring properties of work being carried out on behalf of the Parish Council.

Raw sewage in water is very very dangerous!!

There are several diseases that are brought by sewage damage. It is important to have an idea of these diseases and the their effects to our health.

I could not agree more, of course raw sewage is dangerous and poisonous especially in water, not only to public health but eco and to the fish in the pools. :Thumbs-Down:
