IT IS pathetic that you cannot buy hot food in Hereford after 1.30am.
This stupid idea of Herefordshire Council is, I assume, designed to prevent a build up of people coming out of nightclubs.
Well, guess what? It does not work, because now people queue at the sandwich bar in Commercial Road or in the 24- hour garage.
So why can we not buy hot food? It’s no wonder many people think the nightlife and everything else is so poor and choose to avoid Hereford altogether.
The council needs to rethink and get into the 21st century. Hereford is becoming like a ghost town both during the day and night.

I put the question to council this morning in regard to turning the lights off at Asda, my request has been sent to the Highways Agency to ask for it to be impemented.

 

Let's hope that they see sense and turn them off

Turn the traffic lights off!! it's not rocket science. The traffic builds up all up the Belmont Road and the same on the Ross Road, this junction should be turned back into a large FLOWING roundabout as Colin has suggested.

I won't hold my breath then, last time they went as far as giving you a job number only to later tell you it will not be done until January next year, so I admire your hard work but each time Amey let you down.

I completely agree with Adrian Pitt's comments, this Council is destroying our City! You cannot park anywhere anymore! Disabled spaces everywhere!!! are you telling me that there are more disabled people now than 20 years ago? NO maybe a few more scammers but that's about it, Council should start looking at putting in additional parking spaces and not pedestrianise everything! Broad Street and King Street next! :Thumbs-Down: as food late night hot food this is another pathetic implimentation of how to destroy local business's, What's the difference between being able to buy sandwhiches, crisps and snacks or traditional fish and chips? NOTHING! We were all young once and I remember a good night out was a skin full of beer, off to a disco and a curry on the way home. I cannot believe that you cannot buy any hot food in Hereford City after 1.20am on a Saturday night, we are all treated like kids!

 

Hereford is full of disabled parking spaces and we all know most are actually NOT disabled, but why so many spaces? You cannot park in town, you end up driving around the back of the Green Dragon and into Broad Street/King Street constantly looking for parking spaces if you just need to nip to the bank etc.. parking charges in the car parks are a complet rip off! it's cheaper to park in Bristol than Hereford, work that one out!

 

Hereford is full of non rate paying charity shops and the council chargeextortionate rates which is crippling all the other shops it's no wonder the town is so empty.

Notice that the storage has now extended the whole length of the grassed area along Waterfield Road. There is going to be a big mess here when they leave in December. Not really the right time to sow grass so we will end up with another muddy blighted part of the estate. Should complement the abandoned church at the other end.

Hereford is a joke! I rarely go out here anymore, I usually go over to Worcester or Cardiff. This is unreal, Colin is completely correct, it is no wonder Hereford is so dead! How stupid, oh you can have a line of people wating at the Lunchbox just around the corner from Play for cold food at 2am but you cant have people waiting outside Mr Chips? This was introducced when the relaxed the licensing laws, If my memory serves me correct, which in itself solved the problem of lots of people leaving clubs and hanging around in the City because now people leave in small groups at various times throughout the night, before these laws all the clubs closed at 1 or 2am, so everybody all came out together, this is no longer the case, so this idea is pointless.

Well it is now Wednesday, I rang and left Justine Heath a voicemail on Monday as she is unavailable according to her phone and I had the same yesterday and I have the same today, I will keep trying her but to be fair she could be on holiday I guess.

Police officers have tracked down two teenagers who stole £100 from an elderly woman in Hereford.

 

The 79-year-old was withdrawing money from the cash point outside the Tesco store in Belmont when the pair made off with the money.

 

Police press officer Chris Ammonds said the force received a great number of calls after CCTV stills of two alleged suspects were published in last week’s Hereford Times.

 

He said officers have now made contact with two teens who admitted the offence and have offered to pay back the money, write a letter of apology and buy the victim chocolates and flowers.

 

Mr Ammonds said that with the apology and the agreement of the victim the offence is likely to be settled by way of a community resolution rather than a lengthy process through the courts.

I went for a bike ride this morning down the old GWW, what a tip! anyway all of the original posts are still there NONE have bee nremoved, it will be intersting to see what is said if another person hurts themselves on one of them. Also nothing has been fixed on the Hunderton Bridge either, just thought I would pass on my findings.

That is not only dangerous but unsightly too, poor standards a lot of the time in my opinion. Some of these posts have obviously been in situ for years and nobody has done anything about it.

To answer all your questions

1. You have quoted a segment of an answer to Victor (page 1) where I mentioned about hiding behind an avatar, so it makes me wonder from your response if you are here writing under two avatar? you also said you have not got round to uplifting a photo, considering you join in June 2010, and it is now Oct 2011, just over 15 months later one has to conclude you have never intended to uplift a photo? I live on planet earth, which planet are you on?
2. What I said /printed below that section was not confidential but all other information in the paperwork was. I have not, and have no intention in the future of devolving confidential information to anyone!
3. the reason why no other councillor wishes to come on line here is because they see how you treat me, and do not wish to have the same treatment. We all are members of the Belmont parish council and we all get on very well together.

Well you were having conversations with both of us, so possibly my mistake, I thought you were referring to me when you said about members hiding behind their avatars, I assumed you meant anyone without a picture of themselves, so I included myself and no I do not have 2 alias either! Neither do I have a digital picture of myself to upload, regardless of how long I have been a member here, what does that have to do with it? and the other councilors do not come on here because of you! and you know it, other members have pointed this out over the months, so stop trying to deviate away from the real reason.
You have still not provided the letter that you were so quick to tell us about! why tell us about a letter then say that you cannot publish it?? ha haha you are so predictable you really are, I just knew there was no such letter, and how out of touch are you if you don't even know what we can and can't recycle! They have done a god job of thinning and pollarding those tree's and brambles. It looks a lot better than the previous photographs your provided. Well done Amey and Colin good to see Amey working with the public like this.

I did not take it that you were being nasty, and I have not taken offence, also I can take constructive criticism otherwise I would not hold the position I do. As I have said before it is so easy to criticise someone when you hide behind your advitar!

I have the original paperwork where it states you can recycle foil containers / wrap as well as all the other items. If it has changed it is only recently because as a councillor I have not been advised of the change and I and my other councillor colleagues should of been.

 

It's no wonder none of the other councillors want to come online here, getting into any dialogue with you is a nightmare!! You are quite often wrong and make statements that are incorrect, but always blame something else for your incompetence, such as "I was not informed" etc...

To answer your other question if you were at the parish council meeting at the Northolme Centre, you would of heard the clerk say that I was in Birmingham at a conference and if I was back in time I would attend the meeting!

With reference to the above, If you check and double check everything, how do we have these incorrections? and I don't hide behind my avatar, I just don't have an online picture to upload yet. I was at the meeting last week at northolme centre, but you were not.

Did you find this original paperwork after? I bet not...trouble is Cllr Powell you are full of your own self importance and you hate it when you get it wrong, listen, none of us are perfect including me but I know when to admit when I am wrong.

How silly was that? resident were complaining about this little field a few years ago, and some kids set fire to the fence, If I remember right, so this is just waiting to be set a light   I am really suprised that nobody had the sense to come back today to remove this.

Just one correction to your list above YOU CAN recycle silver foil containers and wrap as long as it is clean.

 

May I suggest that you do your homework prior to making such statements Cllr Powell as you are wrong, no foil allowed.
