Update | Statement from Fire Service

Quote

Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station and the Urban Search and Rescue team from Droitwich were called at 2.30am on July 5 to St Owen Street in Hereford after a car crashed into a building, a fire service spokesperson said.

"There was a hole in an external wall approximately 2m by 1m in height rendering the building unstable. The vehicle was isolated and the USAR team made the building and the area safe using plyboard sheeting."

The fire service said police, paramedics, and a team from Balfour Beatty were also called to the scene but that no-one was injured in the crash.

Samuel Frankland entered a guilty plea when he appeared in court in Worcester.

He hit and damaged the Tattoo Parlour while behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo in Hereford's St Owen Street on December but failed to stop.

He was fined just £450 and received eight penalty points. He must also pay costs of £110 and a £45 victim surcharge. How does £45 ever cover the damage that he caused!
