They all know we are sick n tired of all this incompetence. & waste on vanity projects that will end up doing nothing & we all now very few people use cycle lanes.
The number one issue in this City is the congestion caused by the sheer amount of unnecessary traffic lights that run on a generic timer, some that are deliberately
timed to cause major issues. Why do the lights on the Link Road/Widemarsh St work perfectly OK after 7pm using the ground sensors but are controlled by day with timing that cause huge tailbacks especially in the mornings that sometimes reach as far as the blind College.
The lights on Edgar St to Link Road have been changed to a long unnecessary timer causing long tailbacks.
Investment in removing unnecessary lights ie Newmarket Roundabout, new traffic light control technology throughout the City.Installing roundabouts with priority pedestrian & cycle lanes would be a start.

There is no place for this sort of abuse towards anyone just doing their job. There are some local websites that obviously enjoy winding people up with their headlines all manufactured to encourage bigots and idiots to leave such comments, it gets people engaging and generates clicks and numbers for them, well they should be ashamed of themselves and I think they have a lot to answer for.
I agree but it don't take too much to rile the crowds when this Council have not listened to the very people who put them there in the first place.

Welsh council admits it should not have approved vast poultry farm

Permission for 110,000-chicken farm in ‘poultry capital of Wales’ withdrawn after legal challenge brought by local pressure group
Powys has become a focal point for opposition to the boom in intensive poultry units (IPUs) after freedom of information requests revealed the authority has approved more than 150 in the past five years.
The Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW) led calls for a moratorium on intensive poultry farms after discovering Powys had received five times as many IPU applications than the rest of Wales since 2017.
It is estimated there are around 8.5 million head of poultry in Powys – equivalent to 64 birds for every person – the majority on 100 large-scale farms raising more than 40,000 chickens each.
Environmental campaigners say the explosion in IPUs in the county is linked to the deterioration of rivers in Wales.
Last summer saw algal blooms turn the River Wye – which flows from mid Wales through Powys to the Severn estuary – into “pea soup”, a phenomenon damaging to biodiversity which campaigners blame on phosphates from livestock manure running into waterways.
Welsh environment watchdog Natural Resources Wales (NRW) admitted in December that 60% of the Wye failed to meet phosphate targets – but said the high percentage was due to tighter restrictions.

Hail Mary! Statue’s trip down the Wye raises chicken pollution issue

And she literally sails right past the Sewage outfall works. 🙄

Sick and tired of the same old shite(pardon the pun) about poultry units causing pollution of the Wye. There are very tight restrictions on the diposal of poultry waste most of which is sold to make fertaliser or fuel.
People seem to forget the hundreds of sewage overflow pipes including the hundreds if not thousands of private sewage overflow pipes from residential and business septic tanks that spill directly into the Wye. Not one demostration outside a sewage works, not even banner at a demostration . -

Imagine if the river Wye map looked like that. -

Yes, I'm afraid they've had plenty of time to make significant differences to traffic and air quality with small, common sense changes, but no, nothing. The City itself is filthy, run down, covered in weeds and graffiti, roads full of holes etc etc. On the ground, nothing has changed for visitors in 3 years.
"We are working hard in a number of ways to reduce emissions from vehicles" - really? Has JH even read what some dopey staff member has written for him?
Don't get me started on graffiti .. Saw two lads spraying a wall, called the Police, waited and followed them for over hlaf an hour and nobody turned up. Next time i'll leave em to it

Words that really make me angry. Nearly four years and all we have to show is a few boxes of moss.
“We are working hard in a number of ways to reduce emissions from vehicles in our beautiful, historic City with the aim of cleaner, healthier air for visitors but that takes time. -

I can't help thinking that it would of been more cost effective to plant more trees in spaces around the city. Well established trees could be relocated and also add to the optics.
Welcome to the forum George.

Listening to JH on Central news talking about this being just a small part of a bigger project wich will include a new river crossing 🙄.
You have had nearly four years John with sweet FA being done with our traffic issues in that time. Has nobody told you that the chances of you
building an Easten By-Pass is ...Zero. The Lugg flats are proteceted with an sssi. Its also home to a large breeding population of one of the UK's most threatened brird species, the Curlew. -
Another half arsed job that those in power will argue about who & how to do the work. The whole area needs a major facelift inc the fencing & repairs to the bank.

Bit rich of them complaining about the trees though.
I would of thought the next supermarket that would need to be built in Hereford would be Three Elms -
Nothing wrong with replacing the one in Belmont Road with a digital sign

That image is misleading (from the previous consultation, one of so many) - the scheme has been changed (again) and the cycle lane now runs between the footpath and the parked cars and will sport green macadam.
Yes, and a few signs to the tune of over £700,000 for just over 100 yds of road to cycle on because once they get to St Peters Sq they will have to dismount between the hours of 10.30 & 4pm.(Not that any of them do).
Unless a cycle lane is continuous to a cyclists destination most of them simply don't get used.0 -
Saved at the last minute by Morrisons.

After the trees were put in without any stakes we had some morons pulling down a few trees on the Link Rd over the weekend. Along come Balfour Beatty hammering in bamboo sticks & tying a bit of rope to them.
Completely incorrect way of staking a tree.

One of those moments in life that I know exactly where I was when I heard the news.
