The planning application to turn the Treacle mine into A Pizza Hut has been approved.
There are contractors working in there already

I think you need to do your homework before making such negative outbursts:
There have been many activities organised over the last 25 years.
Only a few years ago more than 50 German visitors from Hereford’s twin town Dillenburg got a guided tour of the Old Market as part of the celebrations marking the 25-year relationship. See Hereford Times article
In Vierzon there is even a pub named after our city La Pub Hereford see this article from 2004.
Another trip of 30 people from 2007 article here
Herefordshire artist, Ashley Lloyd, awarded Festival Des Arts in Vierzon see this article
A SNAPSHOT of Herefordshire life was top of the bill at the Vierzon 59th International Show. Read this article
Many lasting friendships in Loire Valley - article here
Twins celebrating 10th anniversary article
Twin towns meet up article
Courageous family will pay tribute to Beren Rowbotham doing their bit for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) Hereford Times article here and another here
Angels clocked up the miles for hospice cash article here
Hospice ticket to ride, sponsored ride article for St Michael's Hospice
I have only listed a few activities above, so please don't come out with stupid unjustified negative comments like, "Twinning is just an excuse for people to jet off to these places. They do nothing for the majority of people in the city" before doing your research!
Thank you for listing these various activities and trips from over the years, it is good to see the benefits for twinning, some good research Colin.

Are you kidding?! We (the majority) voted LEAVE. Nothing personal against any of our Polish chums but we want to regain control of immigration. Encouraging inter-city links (and transfers) is surely subjugated by the wider view?
What the hell does have have to do with twinning? This has absolutely NOTHING to do with immigration this is about creating stronger links.

I have asked via e-mail the powers that be & will post their response here.
It is like it has just been ignored and it looks a bloody eyesore!
-
This is a nice idea and would make our bond with Poland even better. This is a win win all around
-
It is not a case of being clever, it is a case that NOBODY in power wanted to listen to the warnings! So unfortunately, I think they need to KEEP READING 'WE TOLD YOU'
As above, lessons need to be learned and people need to be sent back because some cultures will not mix no matter how hard the governments try. This is another apparent refugee (Pakistan) that arrived through Angela Merkel's open door last December, maybe he was applauded when he arrived at the train station too.

This is a really good well written article and highlights many issues of unwelcome divide within the community and the unfair labelling that our Polish friends have had to put up with because of this illegal activity by others.
-
This community centre needs all of this support to keep these vital services available for the next 3-5 years for the people that used this centre regularly.

The bricks being used are called old elsworth cream
Personally i do not think these are suitable for the area & agree with two wheels that they should of gone for red bricks which would make the property blend into it's surroundings.
I think we need to get away from the old drab looking red bricks, personally, I believe adding some nice colour will brighten the area up, why do you want to keep things looking the same? Nothing wrong with modernising and adding a 21st touch.

I think that once finished, it will look pretty good, a modern design amidst its older neighbours.
Old houses are all very well, but it is 2016 now, and better to have a nice, new house rather than just a big empty, overgrown space.
Artists impressions rarely look like the finished building.
Look at the flats where Greyfriars Restaurant was. The drawings looked awful, but now it's built, it looks pretty spectacular, and its neighbours? Old houses...
I approve of the new modern look it will brighten up the area

May I be the first to wish you all a happy Easter!

If no one bought anything Christmassy until November, they might begin to get the message.
I will not buy a single Xmas product or present until after the 1st week of December, it is ridiculous.
-
Is this event being run independently from Herefordshire Council or jointly?
Independently as far as I am aware.
Personally, I love the idea and it will create more activity along the old lines, especially if there was an evening service. People still feel vulnerable along here adding a service like this may go some way to making people feel a little safer too.

How much!!! This is unbelievable, WHY are the sitting on all this money? Yet Colin puts in a legitamte request for salt bins and it gets deferred, what is going on here?

An application has been submitted to turn the former records office in Bath St into a boarding house for the Cathedral School.
Demolish existing building and construct a new boarding house to accommodate 49 pupils, nurse bedroom, houseparent accommodation, housetutors flat and overnight staff room.
Details about the planning can be found here
-
There is a kiosk with a sales floor and cash tills in the approved scheme - similar size to the Ledbury Road Tesco one.
Just for the record, here's how the planning committee voting went on this one;
A named vote was requested.
For (9): Councillors BA Baker, CR Butler, PGH Cutter, KS Guthrie, J Hardwick, JLV Kenyon, RI Mathews, WC Skelton, and EJ Swinglehurst.Against (6): Councillors DW Greenow, EL Holton, FM Norman, AJW Powers, A Seldon, and LC Tawn.Abstain (1): Councillor TM JamesWard Cllr Chappell spoke strongly against the application, favouring the original residential use.Do you have a link to updated plans because I cannot find them

If you car is taxed I cannot see what the issue is. I understand that this parking is obviously designed for the shops but nothing stopping anyone parking here, unless there are restrictions in place which there do not appear to be.
You are correct, they have no real right to put this sign up.
-
How many wards are there within the city limits? Colin has listed 16 wards but I cannot see Aylestone Hill. I also notice that Mostyn St and Plough Lane do not come under Whitecross, this is very confusing.
-
A lot of this makes sense and trials need to be put in place. Traffic lights in Hereford are a nightmare and unnecessary, especially at night.
-
To be honest, I do not think this is the best route but which ever route selected would of received opposition, it's is time to just get on with it or we maybe we will end up with nothing at all.
-
That is unbelievable, 20 years, I would never I thought that.
-
I think they source the cheapest and we end up with the nastiest of 'design'. The only winners are BBLP - no change there.
I agree

Unless the tippers conveniently leave their name and address in the rubbish, there's practically nothing that the Council can do. Even then, it's a struggle - I do recall a case some years ago of a massive tip out towards Pixley that I reported - evidence was found of the perpetrators and the Council did pursue a case against them which was won. The punishment was minimal. I doubt there are resources or interest within the Balfour Beatty agreement to do much than collect, if that.
Well they are hardly going to do that are they but if your read Colin initial post there was plastic on the mattress where the police may obtain finger prints, white often you will see bags of rubbish with letters etc inside. Do they study CCTV in the surrounding area's? I just think rather than collecting this tipped rubbish more should be done to catch the culprits, nothing to do with BB this is a crime and should be treated as such.
-
They should seek to prosecute these offenders or do they merely collect the rubbish? How far do they go to find out who is responsible for the tipping?
