Hereford Voice have received these reports today and we have also received further unconfirmed reports that Hereford Medical Group have agreed to take on all 120 people during a meeting today.

We are expecting an official statement from Herefordshire Council to be released tomorrow (Tuesday 7th).

Once a 'go live' date is agreed, we could see people arriving at the hotel within 24-48 hours.

  • Hereford Voice changed the title to BREAKING NEWS | Green Light Given To Accommodate 120 Asylum Seekers At Three Counties Hotel In Hereford.

I wonder what Bill Wiggin and Jesse Norman's moves on this will be? Especially as the authorities expect to use the services of Hereford Medical Group.

Recent article in Hereford Times:

Worst for same-day appointments
Hereford Medical Group came in last place, with just 27.78 per cent of patients (8,225) given same-day appointments.

If the government was processing asylum seekers within reasonable timescales it wouldn't need to house them in hotels. We should have sympathy for those who have had to flee their homes, now stuck in temporary accommodation and having to live with so much uncertainty. A bit more compassion from all - not least the government - please.

Oh come on Libby, they are fleeing from France. Last time I looked there was no war or persecution there.
I'm all for helping genuine asylum seekers but most crossing the Channel are economic migrants with 90% being men. Ever wondered why there are hardly any Women fleeing persecution and war.
Ever thought why they are being put up in the most deprived area of the City too ?
