Just what the area needs , yet another restaurant.

Saw these in Hereford not long ago
Caution,swearing ahead
Discovered these on internet recently, the millionaire song and others of theirs have a message , well worth listening to

I think the Rones have bought the Saracens Head.

What is it with this town, the food fair has been dropped and this thing was obviously staged by an out of area set up supplying their own caterers. The council were aware and just sat back and let it happen. We have enough suppliers locally to cater for these events but it doesn't happen.

Wasn't cycling always illegal / banned or what have you in a pedestrianised area ?? I am sure it was when I was a kid ?

Is Ron Smith a Honda dealer ?? If so Honda have possibly given him an ultimatum to have an up to date showroom or lose his franchise. It happened with the m/cycle dealers (remember we had a showroom once) . I would guess there is a huge investment going into the site. If as I say Honda had anything to do with it they would not have entertained the old buildings on the site.

Do we need to do things just because another country does it?
No , but it is forced upon us by those in the know (supposedly) .

I think this is a bad idea, no doubt a tory thing to help their business mates get even more money so they can give even more money to the Tory party.
I am not religious, but I think it would be nice if we could do without going shopping for at least one day a week. With 24 hour shopping and online shopping, surly we do not need even more hours for people to shop.
People are forced to work sundays in stores these days, certainly when they start the new job, it is you work sunday because that is the way it is or you do not have a job.
I work Sundays, while I was not forced into it as such in that I would lose my job, the way things was worded was not nice.
I tend to agree with this, Hereford only has so much money to spend in a town which whether you like it or not has been torn apart as have many others. We will always be a market town without a motorway link and bad traffic. Sticking a new shopping centre in does not fix the problems we have had for years. Outsiders may come and look get caught in the traffic struggle to park and may never return. Some business "brains" think we can box above our weight, we can not and will never do so. Yes things have changed and "we must keep up with the times otherwise we will die" ok, go and walk the main town and count the empty shops. I doubt any of the businesses in the new part would have bothered if it wasn't for incentives. Fill the place with shops and open more hours, but as I say there is only so much money out there.

Won't be long until the annoying Xmas ads by ant and deck, ( still no idea which is which ?) over the tannoy for the lead to Xmas. When they were supposedly struggling I emailed them to advise them to drop these 2 fools and save a fortune. I received the std acknowledgement email but nothing else. If there is a special deal on whatever why do we need some " celebs" to let us know, are we in their eyes that stupid ??

May be a silly question but have noticed a large influx of Orthodox Jews are staying at Hereford Blind College accommodation blocks (The Point) . Just wondered is there a big event in the area ?
-
A bit off topic but Morrisons are trying their best ( not very well) to win our custom. I emailed them around Xmas time, when ant and dec are on the tannoy . I said that if they were to drop those fools it would save a fortune. If there is a special deal on then I don't need 2 talentless idiots to inform me, t b h anyone will do. They were a bit shy at replying.

Paint was being applied to the outside masonry of the building this afternoon.( Please note my choice of wording describing the job in hand) I am not a gambler but it points towards another take away opening very soon.

The part of Mr Chips on the corner used to be Ronnie Joynes hairdressers. He managed the ip sisters and was well known in the world of Jazz and was an accomplished Hawaiian guitar player.
He married one of the original Bluebell girls troupe.Taught me to play the guitar.
Yes, I remember the hairdressers now you mention it.

There's a big area next to Merton Meadow which is slightly closer to the main road, currently a football pitch and some very tired stands, just the job.

Agree. The number of people coming and going from the OLM especially on weekends is staggering,Widemarsh Street is by far the busiest street in town.
On another note, whilst having coffee outside Costa I always have a rant to the missus about cars doing way in excess of 30mph when the speed limit is 20.
Agree . there has been talk somewhere that Widemarsh St trade has been boosted, probably better than O L M itself in parts. I doubt The Mkt will be filled before Xmas(2016) , Gloucesters clone has never been full . There is a certain shop in W M street that has been " CLOSING DOWN" since the new part opened .

After visiting the new part ( still with empty units) we went to Maylord Orchards, I was shocked at how many were empty. I doubt they will be taken any time soon.

I am not a football fan. I was there when Ronnie Radfords goal went in and that was about it for me. What I have always said is I wouldn't have liked to see the end of football in the town, there is a lot of history, good and not so good but would be a pity to lose it. I would of thought 5 years is nothing in the scheme of things for a "new" set up ?????

Hi, ( first post on here) I grew up in St Guthlac Street, in my day the area you talk about was known as The Pit. Just wonder if anyone else remembers it and when it became Central Park. Thanks
