  1. I stopped my interest in football in the 70s. That said I have nothing against the game and it was a sad time for Hereford when HUFC went bust etc. The new team hopefully will pull things back eventually for the fans and put the town back on the football map.

But I as others question where these thousands of fans / followers were when they were needed a few years ago when gate numbers were at an all time low.

Good luck to the team and I hope the fans stick with them through the good times as well as the bad.

  2. I concur .... Totally predictable ....

You seem to be on a different planet Glenda. I agreed with you (an expert on Southside matters as you live there) about likely damage and you go off on a tangent about North/South ..... You can't have your cake and eat it to but you seem to want to!

Agreed. Please see my original post at the beginning of the thread, as I said I have seen it from both ends .

  3. So much for Acadamy education !

That's sad when we know that the Skate Park in Holmer Rd has been going well for so long and bringing so much fun

( and exercise ) for the youngsters of this City .

Just hope that the kids in Newton Farm realise the benefits and fun and enjoyment this type of Skate Park can bring .

Like it or not but there has always been a difference between North and South,(not everyone, just a small number that spoil it for the rest) and before anyone jumps down my throat , yes I have lived both sides of the river, seen it from both sides.

  4. My partner owns a property in Marcle Walk, she rents the property out. There are lockable lift up posts that have been there since the properties were built, in all fairness the residents know their spaces and tend to respect the issue. We were never approached as to whether we were happy with this, who's idea was it, or was it something else just foist upon the residents , like it or not.

As Colin James has pointed out above you are well within your rights with these set ups to tell them where to go with their tickets.

  5. then please state that in your original post. Its all too easy to misconstrue stuff like this especially when its focused on a estate that gets ALOT of flak.

still before this topic gets derailed wouldn't the cure to this type of dumping be to fund and publicize a service (be it Housing association or council) that takes this sorta stuff off to the tip on behalf of people Who cant afford the means to take this stuff off their selves?

Just saying. believe it or not, not everybody has the means to do this

Yes, on reflection my choice of wording in my original post was not correct, I should have pointed out what I said further down the thread that a few spoil it for others. I hold my hand up and did not want to offend anyone.

  6. Atm69...thats a bit of a gross generalization isn't it? Of which areas to you speak of anyhow?

I think the pictures speak for themselves also the areas have been mentioned in the thread. Not a generalization, the inhabitants drag an area down no matter where it is, people seem to see a mess and add to it. Unfortunately the education system has not pushed the subject enough for many years.

  7. Clean for the County , yes why not , clean for the queen? why ?? It would take an age to teach the half wits who cannot conduct their activities to learn how to keep the place clean. There are areas of Hereford that the inhabitants deserve nothing better than a steel shipping container, they are pigs

  8. Just been into town this morning. The place needs sorting now before it's too late ( probably is) every time  I go there it has deteriorated some more. Parts of it are disgusting. Sadly the old areas are in a sad state which will put people off visiting yet again.

  9. I can't remember mine but I can remember my Mother coming into The Lichfield Vaults waving my birth certificate at the Landlord. (It was in the days when they had lovely pies in a heater on the bar.) I got chased out. Not by the Landlord ~ But by my Mother! Late 70's I'm on about. The Landlord (Mr. Worthy) then went on to run The Bell in Leominster. So I obviously had to pop in there!  :Happy_32:

I think my next one was in The Lich, (it was used in a tv programme earlier in the week as well as The Cathedral) I worked at Mead and Tomkinson with Mr Worthys son Kevin, he went to help run The Bell with his father.

  10. I would have given you a +1 for that comment but that function is now banned ..... So I got this instead!  :Thumbs-Up:

Thanks. A few pubs in Hereford have done full circle, names changed then go back to original later. Just because a pub went bad a simple change of name does not make it a better place. I had my first under age pint in The Hop Pole. As you said cheaper drinks and a few big screens should do it in that location, simple.
