The Council havent advertised it but the Plan for Herefordshire for the next 15 years, called the Core Strategy is going to be "Examined in Public" at Hedley Lodge, Belmont Abbey from this Tuesday 10th February starting at 10am. I understand that this plan has cost over £4million and it looks like it is due build lots of houses in Herefordshire.

I thought the Southern Link Road was supposed to be supported by a package of sustainable transport measures. I couldn't make the "Public" meeting as it was so short notice. Many people I know cycle to Rotherwas most days I am interested in how this might be made a bit safer but the Council website just shows plans of a road and none of the cycle routes/bus routes, etc I was hoping to see. Can anyone help?

Like you regular posters I thought this was good news and very welcome to improving the appearance of the City Centre. However, I do hope the work will be completed before the 300th Anniversary of the 3 Choirs Festival which takes place in Hereford this summer. Also this is the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, which I think Hereford owns a copy. Digging up and road works all over Hereford City Centre at such an important time for visitors would really show that no one in Herefordshire Council has any awareness of these important tourist attractions for our historic City and local businesses.
