Guests Guest smartieno1 Posted July 20, 2013 Guests Report Share Posted July 20, 2013 Can anyone explain why TESCO are being allowed to dictate when AMEY carry out roadworks on Abbotsmead Road?......this week they decided to start at 6am....to avoid disrupting the deliveries....idiots!! Glenda Powell
Having been told this was happening, I was told the roadwork were to fill in the potholes that was requested from one of the councillors living in Belmont area.
Guests Guest smartieno1 Posted July 20, 2013 Guests Report Share Posted July 20, 2013 Some man-hole covers have been replaced and the work was authorised by Joe Neil of AMEY .....I would like to think that no Councillor especially one as sensible as Phil Edwards would HAVE AUTHORISED A 6am start.... Then again ...
Glenda Powell
Again I was told, the decision to start early was not to disrupt the early morning traffic, nothing was said about Tesco, The councillor has taken credit for his outstanding request for the work to be done. Frank Smith
6am is a little early, 0730 would be more acceptable but the only roadworks I saw when I was there earlier was on the footpath not the road? (even though cones were on the road?)
cv5
Tesco's dictating work etc...even though they haven't been mentioned as authorising work in this scenario - I still think they have a lot more power in Hereford than what people like to think! As for Councillor Phil Edwards, would he really care about the time that AMEY do work - seeing as he doesn't even live in Belmont anymore!!
