  1. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/11556396.Herefordshire_Council_attempt_to_take_possession_of_Edgar_Street/

Do who didn't see this coming? It's amazing how untransparent this council is yet everyone can see right through them.

Nothing but lies, deceit and plotting behind the scenes at EVERY SINGLE turn.

With November 5th coming up, I think someone needs to go and burn that ******* place to the ground. Nowhere have I seen so much ineptitude, lying, secrecy and ripping off of the public.

Literally putting the CON into Conservatives.

  2. I just looked at today's traffic. Every red point - bar the Pizza Hut Roundabout - is bang on a set of traffic lights.

    ..just saying.

Edit: Just found a cool feature, you can select live traffic or "typical traffic". As you flick through the days you see a big build up of traffic jams Tuesday - Thursday.

  3. I think you may have a long wait for a response from a councillor......is it just my imagination, or has it been an age since one posted upon these pages??

I don't expect them to ever reply, they never do unless it fits in with their agenda, most of them aren't bothered about the poor old towns folk, what we think and certainly have no interest in answering any questions that actually have any relevance.

Ask them what their plans are for the new elections and they'd reply in droves with the spineless promises that they have no intention of keeping.

  4. I've been meaning to ask for a while now.

There's been a lot of delivery on the black wheelies now, but no one can use them until November.

Now I'm assuming this is because of a weight issue? And that the black bag lorries will need to be retrofitted with lifting mechanisms - yes? no?

    My questions are:

A: If this is the case, how much will it cost to fit the lorries and how does that balance with the alleged savings being made?

B: If this is not the case, then why can't we use them?

  5. I used to think I'd like to see cycle lanes around town. I don't, I want to see cycle *routes*. Lanes or no lanes, car drivers couldn't give a **** and drive through them anyway, it's just not worth cycling with such a high level of danger. Whether it's the heavy traffic on inner city roads or the speeding drivers in the middle of country roads as they go around blind corners.

  6. How can anyone discuss a shortage of housing when so many sit empty?

Fill what we have, THEN let's talk about building more.

And while I have no problem with legal immigrants, you simply cannot deny that the difference in cultures leads to unwanted side effects such as over stuffing house and this "care free" attitude to doing what one likes. With streets becoming majority EU, and other migrants blocking roads with their second hand, ex postal / tesco vans etc, there IS a problem. And each problem has a knock on effect. You over stuff houses, that increase the number of vehicles per household and, with not enough space to accommodate so many imported vehicles, the roads and streets become blocked and packed to the brim.

Now you could argue that more houses will fix that - it won't, it will just compound the issue and it boils down to differences in cultural attitudes. I'm sure immigrants don't intend to pi*% people off, because that behaviour is commonplace in their country.

We, as a country, don't have the capacity for so many people. The NHS, housing, the economy can't support it, no matter how politicians spin it. Immigrants move to the UK. Often pack 10 in a house made for 4. Bringing their own vehicles with them - so our motor industry suffers (hell, even we go abroad to buy cars because it's cheaper), we've seen a boom in migrant specific shops opening, the stock is imported from abroad, the profits are sent back. So money earnt in the UK *is* leaving the country.

Of course not all of them (most of them I find to be very polite and hard working), but this is an observable fact.

  7. Morrisons car park is fairly full most of the time when the shop is not ... Probably a mixture of shoppers/people taking the p!ss

I park in Morrissons when I have to go to the hospital - I'd rather crawl up Stonebow road(?) than pay to park in the hospital carpark

I don't go into town very often but I was there today and there is a new car park off Wall Street (adjacent to Tesco) ... £1 for an hour ... £5 for 24 hours ... Scaled charges ... Looks private ... It might have been there a while but I haven't noticed it ...

The only trouble there is all of the morons that block access because they don't notice it's a two way road up to the car park.

That and when the traffic builds up, with the new lights, it creates a loop on itself and becomes a solid gridlock from tesco's underground entrance, through the carpark, out the otherside and around back to the entrance, a solid loop with no where to go - happened last week, 45 minutes to get in the underground to out the new lights

  8. Private land is private land - regardless as to whether it's a double drive or a 200 space car park, so my point remains that if anyone here owned land that people kept parking on in contrary to the conditions, you'd want to do something about it.

Your Morrisson's ordeal sounds ridiculous (on their part). I'm considerate when I park but if a private carpark (Tesco etc) is full apart from a parent and child space - I'll park in it. Likewise, if I have a broken leg, I'll park in a disabled without a badge.

  9. I think perhaps the problem is the way the enforcement is done.

I agree with Stupidfrustration, people are parking on someones land, they have the right to enforce conditions. HOWEVER, threats and impersonating government workers and paperwork is definitely a no no.

Perhaps sf wasn't too clear in their example. Perhaps consider that you have a double drive and only use one space and then random strangers parked on your driveway every day - you'd want to do something about it right?

I think for me, depending on the purpose of the space (shopping/staff carpark/back of a shop etc), I'd put up a notice and have people towed for trespass for violations.

These fake tickets are wrong without a doubt, but a businesses person or landowner has the right to place conditions upon the use of their own land. I'm sure you'll agree

  10. But under the new system, the tax will no longer be automatically transferred with a car when it is sold.

Sellers are expected to tell the DVLA straight away of the change of ownership or face £1,000 fines.

This is the important bit that's going to trip up a lot of people.

But you know, no information campaign and £1,000 penalties....  easy money
