Well you told him,he did not listen and you still kept his post up
You clearly did not read Colin's post here did you?
-
I am sure in time they will. Why do you ALWAYS see things in poor light, your glass is always half empty instead of half full, never happy! We never had recycling until a few years ago in 2009 and I am sure in time even that will improve, so whats wrong with profit? Its not a bad word you know, they need profit in order to improve and employ. This is actually something really good and you still complain.
Yes I have noticed too. Come on dude it's not all doom and gloom
-
Good letter Colin, lets hope that the ht prints it next week.

It's NOT a fine, it NEVER will be a fine, and it has NO LEGAL grounds to be passed off as a fine, and there's nothing ILLEGAL about the parking as PPC's have no right to make traffic laws up as they go along, something which many of them seem to think that they can.
IT'S AN INVOICE, AND AN UNREASONABLE ONE AT THAT.
The most they would ever be able to reclaim in court is actual PROVABLE losses . . . i.e. the price of a P&D ticket. But they would first have to prove who the driver was, IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE, the advice given to Councillor Powell is typical of what most people do, they get frightened by the official looking document and stupidly pay it.
READ ALL ABOUT IT FIRST and you will see that its a scam.

This looks handy

Just heard it again now while sat in my kitchen. Good interview and very Herefordian sounding lol
-
Nothing that Amey do suprises me anymore

Turn all of these traffic lights at this junction OFF! And leave them OFF!
-
As Colin has said on a number of occasions, these traffic lights should be turned off and this should be turned back into a roundabout.
-
Having another garage in the city can ONLY benefit the motorist and help drive fuel prices down or at the very least stop the current cartel! Competition just has to be good, regardless of the above post that megilleland has added.

Yes they do open my bin, but it is more of a curiocity why they do it, they tell me they are intersted to see what I, as a councillor, put in my recycling. So yes they see the contents of my recycling bin and never questioned, or advised me I was putting the wrong things into it. I have had the same binmen for years. As I said before I did not have any stickers with my small bin only the white one for my house number and address.
I was inquisitive about this,
So I asked one of our refuse collectors this question today and he informed me that it would be more than his job is worth to look inside anyone's bin! he said that this is a load of baloney, simply because it would be considered an invasion of privacy, it is also against the law and they are VERY HOT on this sort of thing and it results in instant dismissal. The fact that I am a bin man does not give me the right to look into or through anyone's bin.
I had a feeling this would be illegal.

This is the post. So when I said codswallop I meant your comment about the bin men looking thru your bin not being illegal, when it obviously is! -
P.Rowe, I did not say the resident phoned me, actually they stopped me in the street where they live in Hunderton, (after I stopped speaking to one of their neighbours who was complaining about the traffic going up a one way street the wrong way) I came home to phone the officer to ask him to send the bin men back to collect the recycling as they were still in the area, when he told me 'they had looked in the bin' and found an uncleaned takeaway container in there I walked back to the residents home to tell them what I had been told, at which time the resident showed me the unclean container in the bin. pray tell me if the bin men had not open the bin and looked inside they would not of seen it, the resident also confirmed this, when they were ask by the resident why they had put a red label on the bin and not emptied it, So please don't tell me I am talking codswallop when I was shown the container in the bin.
Oh ok ok I am not going to argue over words! telephoned, contacted you, stopped you in the street then, whatever!
I am not disputing that they found unclean food containers in a bin.
But I was actually referring to your comment about the bin men looking in YOUR bin! (read my whole reply) and the fact that it is illegal!!
Even though you seem to think it is not with your examples.
-
I think you will find that it is not illegal, for two reasons.
1. recently a resident contacted me because the men refused to empty the recycling bin and put a red label on it,when I contacted the officer he said' when we open the bin it was found to have unclean takeaway food containers in it' when told this I contacted the resident and went to see them, and they admitted the food container was put into the bin.
2. On another occasion this time fly tipping of black bags, the bags were opened for evidence who placed them where they were dumped, which they found and the resident was prosecuted. If you watch these programs on TV you will often see on camera officers going through the rubbish to find any correspondence with 'names / address' on it for evidence.
Councillor you really do talk some codswallop! "Someone has always telephoned you" eh... of course it is illegal! if that was the case I could just go through anyones bin and get all their personal information and have an identidy creative time! It is called DATA PROTECTION may I suggest you read up on it! also try contacting the police and see what they tell you, it is totally illegal!! illegal!! illegal!!
I just read this article Here you may find it interesting.
The legal term "invasion of privacy" refers primarily to a person's right to keep his or her life private and free from the intrusion of others, this also includes private details that you even throw away in your general household waste. It is often associated with a public figure's right to be left alone by the media, although many public aspects of a celebrity's life are not protected. Invasion of privacy charges are usually presented in a civil lawsuit against an organization that has crossed a perceived line into a celebrity or other person's private life, or have used his or her likeness or name in an unauthorized public manner. It would be more likely that a national tabloid would face an invasion of privacy lawsuit than a private citizen.Modern invasion of privacy laws essentially protect people in four different ways: intrusion of solitude, public disclosure of private facts, false light, and appropriation. The media is protected by the First Amendment right to free speech, as long as the published or broadcast material does not violate personal privacy and is either verifiable as true or presented as an opinion, clearly not a statement of fact. This condition is why many such lawsuits do not prevail in court. The defendant can always claim the information was presented as a hypothetical or speculative piece, and not obtained through any invasion of privacy.

My wheelie bin is very full the time and there is no silver foil in their, so it must be full of McDonalds and pizza empty boxes this time around

Mrs Preece actually.
Councillor Powell you did correct someone here by suggesting this was actually the withy brook and not the newton brook as Colin James had illustrated. I am not being funny with you just pointing out, that making a statement like that is confusing to the other members. I think you need to point out as a councillor that you were actually wrong and infact it is the newton brook within the Glastonbury Close area.
I have to agree.
-
Colin, I have checked in regard to the brook, the Newton Brook starts at Kingfisher Rd and travels down Waterfield Rd to the the side of Carwardine green, once it goes under the main road by the Three Counties Hotel it becomes the Withy brook, which may seem unusual but remember being told this many years ago when I became a councillor by another Belmont Ward councillor!
Now I am really confused as Cllr Edwards refers to this brook (Glastonbury Close) as Newton Brook like Colin
I got this statement from HEREFrom: Edwards, Philip (Cllr)Sent: 26 July 2009 16:47
To: Jackson, Martin
Cc: Hemblade, Robert; belmontrural@yahoo.co.uk; belmont.lpt@westmercia.pnn.police.uk
Subject: FW: Glastonbury Close Open Space / Newton Brook fencing panels
Importance: High
Please confirm what action has been taken as regards clearance of the Newton Brook (site at the end of Glastonbury Close, Belmont) because I remain concerned about potential flash flooding issues at and around the Three Counties Hotel complex and adjacent houses to the Brook. I further notice that one of the new galvanised spiked fence uprights is also mixed in with the debris in the Brook.
Further downstream and where the Newton Brook empties into the River Wye (access from CH7 Footway off Golden Post or Sydwall Rd area) the tributary is full of timber and waste which is now aiding inappropriate crossing of the Brook and also providing access to Barwood House which is suffering from inappropriate activities and vandalism.
Finally, I note metal fencing opposite 116 Golden Post, Hunderton, has been cut and bent up so that unofficial access to the woodland POS is now leading to fly tipping, which will no doubt eventually end up in the Brook! Please can you work with Herefordshire Housing Ltd and/or others to reduce incidents like this and ensure that the Newton Brook is cleared?
Rightmove also refer to this as the Newton Brook HERE
So can we have some clarification please

Yeah you said all this once Cllr? Bin men need a talking too then as there are clearly taking the wrong items, have you answered any of the above?
-
Obviously no thought put into this whatsoever. Why have they removed all of the logs, how annoying
-
This garage area belongs to Herefordshire Housing, and the part removal of garages 12 months ago was to free up the land for possible housing. I have just contacted them asking what is happening with this area, and at the very least it needs to be cleared of rubbish, they are coming back to me later today.
In regards to the grass and weeds that is Amey I have also contacted them this moring asking for a complete cut, removal of weeds, cut back of trees around the light standard, remove rubbish / fly tipping and put new poo bins along the GWW.
Over a year on, so have they come back to you yet Glenda?
-
I have just been contacted by Amey to apologise for giving me the wrong information in regard to who cut the trees.( see post above) They have assured me the work will be completed tomorrow hopefully in the morning.
We know that Glenda because Colin had already told us! -
Congratulations to Colin, Belmont Voice has today gone over 100,000 website hits, now that is incredible in less than 2 years! fantastic.

I reported the fly tipping that has happened in Glastonbury Close, when I was in town this morning with Craig Sandman
(Team Leader - Community Protection Team) because nothing has been done about it yet. The house in question is number 3 Golden Post, which is next door to the person from last year.
Nothing will be done, council are too soft, he should receive a summons in the post with photographs attached but I will be very suprised if they even call on him again. Load of old bull I think and that is why they do it, because they know hardly anything will be done about it! (slap on the wrist)
Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am

So you can buy cold food but not hot? So how does that stop any potential trouble from clubbers? What a load of rubbish! never heard so much rubbish, this is about the police trying to save money by not deploying additional weekend officers and nothing more! It makes no difference whether people can buy hot or cold food how ridiculous is that?
