  1. Yes I agree as a tenant of HHL I would like to know how, and where our money is spent, and the cost. I will ask again for the cost. I did ask the painters they said they did not know either, which I found their answer evasive as they would of negotiated a price to carry out the work.

Did you speak to the painters or their boss? because if it was the workers there is a good chance that they would not know.

  2. I have heard from the officer this lunchtime in regard to Glastonbury Close and the site visit I arranged last week with officers. Amey will be going there for half a day, as part of a program of works, they will clear the area and cut back the foliage of the stumps but will not remove them altogether due to budget costs. I have accepted this,I feel although this was not what we wanted, something is better than nothing being done at all.

Why do you have to accept this? can you not put more pressure upon them to get these stumps cut down on this visit once and for all? Because in the long run it will save us money and not use any of their budget next year. Otherwise, all that will happen is that they will end up coming out every year with the excuse that they don't have enough in their budget each time.

Well done for getting this far but I think we could get this job completed this time around.

  3. BRPC holds meetings roughly every six weeks and publishes it's Minutes of meetings once they have been approved at the next meeting. This is because things sometimes get changed and it can be misleading to have different versions of minutes in the public domain. Once they're approved, they cannot be changed. Once approved they are, and always have been, published on www.belmontrural.co.uk. Hard copies can be obtained from me but there is a small charge for copying (to cover copy costs).

I have tried to send a copy of the most recent approved Minutes to Victor but the e-mail has bounced back.

The next meeting is Thursday evening when the minutes of the meeting held at the end of June will be approved and they can then be published.

Well that website is hardly used or updated as the last published minutes on that website are May. Could you send them to the administrator here so that he can publish them for us to read please. I think his email is admin@belmontvoice.co.uk

  4. Yes and it was done, the problem now is that they did not come back to check it every so often and it has gone back to the original state from our first request. The site meeting with 2 officers and myself at 9am this morning went well, they are now going to see how much it will cost, and come back to me.

No it was not done as you both originally asked was it! that is my point, the supervisor at the time insisted that they did not need cutting right down, because I remember there was also the issue of kids climbing on the stumps near to that awful fence, they also left sharp tools laying around at the time. So I am saying lets hope they do it as you have both requested this time, then there will be no need to come back (for the tree's) and they would not be going to work out the costs again.

  5. GOOD NEWS! I am pleased to report having spoken to a senior officer this afternoon there is someone coming to Glastonbury Close in the morning to meet me on site, I have advised the officer I want the stumps cut down to ground level, weeds removed, brook cleaned out and the grass cut also do the verge again along the road.I will then be reporting back to the officer tomorrow afternoon in person as we are both going to the same meeting.

Did Colin and you not request this originally? this is good news but lets see what happens this time.

  6. I have come to the conclusion that it obviously doesn't matter what Amey or I say in explaination to the posts WE ARE WRONG! I have received further information in regards to the restrictions, but in the circumstances I do not feel it is worth advising you all, as you do not believe what is said! as far as I am concerned this discussion is going nowhere end of!!!

Well well well...they are discussing points which have value, hardly the attitude to have when they are legitimate issues.(I fail to see where anyone has said you are wrong? I think you are taking this personally) I noticed that in response to a phone call that Colin James had with Justine Heath, she requested that members continue with debate in order for her to put a case together and she would continue to read what was being said from my understanding.

As suggested by Justine Heath, I would like all members to monitor this junction reporting information and pictures where possible in support of our case, which I think is a great idea. Justine commented that this website was useful and hopefully she will now register in order to be able to give our members accurate information from time to time so that we have the clear facts before we comment.

The new system is not working from the evidence of the discussions thus far and pictures that have been submitted. The yellow box issue also has merit, so what's the problem Cllr?

    I thik that one of the problems here is that there is no consistency in what we are being told, it's ok to renew a yellow box, which we have told can only be placed when there are traffic lights, and in the case on walnut tree ave this is not the case and yes, once over painted, I am of the same opinion that they then take ownership of that, perhaps Amey would like to comment as I think by the sound of things, you are getting annoyed as your not hearing perhaps what you want to hear. :Thumbs-Down: :Thumbs-Down: :Thumbs-Down: in the beginning your were also not happy and you told us that the new keep clear signs were not laid as you requested;

Having seen the photographs Colin James took today when he contacted me this afternoon, I have sent my comments to Amey, advising them what I actually said when we had site meeting in November which was: the keep clear signs needed to be put across the whole road from Abbotsmead Rd / Northolme Rd / Southolme Rd to reach the edge of the island on the other side. I have now ask for this to be put right by the end of this coming week

    The goal posts keep moving!

You had meetings with Amey and discussed all of this, they also sent correspondance out prior to doing the work, so to be fair you should of been well aware of exactly what was going to be done and also the restrictions and guidlines that Amey have to work within.

There just seems to be one rule for them and another for the constiuents, the mere fact that the yellow box in walnut tree ave has been there for a while has nothing to do with it and certainly does nt make it right! I am sure that the same will apply when they renew the line painting on the sign in Barton Road too.

It seems to me that all that is being requested here is some clear clarification, is that too much to ask for?

  7. Well again an unbielable response, that are not adequate, because as soon as any car tries to edge it's way out from that junction when there is a queue of traffic (everyday) hey will be covering the little sign, they just do not want to do it again and admit that they are wrong. Have a look at this picture taken in London, this is how it should be and they know it!

I can show them plenty of other examples from around the country.

The KEEP CLEAR sign should be in the centre of the carriageway, the way they have done it, looks far too small for a start and is restrcited to the inside lane, when clearly traffic approaching the roundabout is in the middle of the carriageway as you can see from the other pictures provided by Colin James.

Have a look at the vehicle in this picture.

    post-2-13006444756138.png

When there is a huge queue, do you think this vehicle would keep the exits clear looking at this picture? NO is the obvious answer. This needs rectifying, residents are not happy and at the end of the day, Amey are contracted by the council who in turn are elected by us, this work has not been carried out as was requested and as it stands it's useless. I am that annoyed that unless something sensible is done, I will be writing to the Hereford Times because this is just pathetic!

  8. To be fair, it is not rocket science, anyone with half a brain can clearly see that the work they have done renders pretty useless, come on!

A KEEP CLEAR sign is making a command/statement and this hardly does that does it? lets hope this is rectified asap.

I would suggest that they over paint the signs and re paint newer march larger and central to the road signs, going from the juctions to the edge of the roundabout.

You took the words out of my mouth, well said. :Thumbs-Up:

What a waste of money, why on earth could they not get it right the first time? Amey should look at this website to see some of the comments made and also the pictures that Colin James has provided, especially the last one, then at least they might get it right.

Thank you for your efforts Councilor

  10. I find this whole subject annoying, of course you should be able to photograph and video your children, especially on precious days, like sports day and when they are performing, to deny this is absurd!

Makes me laugh, every week LIVE on national television you see footballers walking onto the pitch holding hands with young kids in their football kit for the whole country to see as well as 70,000 spectators, yet you cannot photograph your own kids at your local school, with maybe 100 people present, this is absolutely ridiculous and beyond belief in my opinion.

    All signed! :Thumbs-Up:

  12. Same answer then really, I am not being negative as I appreciate that they are under some pressure currently but we have the same issues year after year, it's about time we became more prepared as snow in this country is not something that is new. There has clearly been a constant change in the weather pattern over the past 8 years or more and still the whole place comes to a stand still. It will be floods next.

    Exactly right that is :Thumbs-Up:

  13. Of course it will reduce traffic, that's the whole idea with bypasses (traffic bypass the city) hence the word bypass..

Most of the traffic going through Hereford is heading up the A49 to Warrington, everybody who has lived in this city knows that!

WE NEED A BYPASS AND YES WE NEED HOUSES!!

As for using a bike, I drive all around the UK with my job and I have kids that I need to take here and collect from there, so right now that is not an option for me I'm afraid, now, If i need to go into town and I am on my own, then yes I use my bike, but to be fair that is not very often.

12000 more cars? think you have one too many naught's there

    Yes, yes and yes again
