The Hereford Times wrote a brief article on this idea in 2011, but there was hardly any response to it then. Here you have momentum, lots of people for it, of course there will be doubters and problems to over come but all these can be sorted. In the one proposed route the tram or metro rail system used the GWW then joined up with the existing rail network, if this was possible then you virtually have a full circle which would link Rotherwas up with this metro system.

Looks like a Ledbury based transport expect has explored this idea and he thinks it could be the answer to Herefords congestion problems, the suggestion has also been supported by Pre Metro Operations who run a light rail service in Stourbridge. His version is very very similar to ours and apparently there is a booklet made about it, although I have failed to find this. The costings are in the region of £22 million.

link this tram system into a park and ride also, situate a carpark just off the A49 somewhere by the Grafton then link this up to the GWW and Hereford joins the 21st century. The amount of people I deal with that ask where Herefords park and ride system is and when I say they haven't got one they look at me in disbelief, let's move this city forward.

I'm standing as a IOC candidate not in any of the proposed tram routes though. I think it's a fantastic, furturistic idea and just what this city and county need, who cares who comes up with the ideas as long as someone does, I for one would vote for it.

Can't believe HCC turned the offer down,actually thinking about it nothing surprises me when HCC is concerned. It would put Hereford on the map for the write reasons as well as being a tourist attraction it would help reduce traffic movements.
