  1. I have just come back from the Information Centre to pick up a copy of the Journal, only to be shown a letter from the Journal office stating as from next week the Hereford Journal is no longer FREE, there will be a cost of 45p per copy to members of the public, this will come into effect next week. They are also looking for new outlets for the journal to be picked up from.

  2. I raised the garage issue to Herefordshire Housing. Paul Kennedy has written back to me personally and confirmed that Herefordshire Housing has committed £340,000 in next years budget. This will ensure as necessary they will upgrade and rapair the garages / other building and if required demolish any of these that are considered unsafe.

  3. While out walking along the old railway lines this morning, just as you approach the Belmont road bridge, there is this eye sore!

This is disgusting! you really need to see it to appreciate how vile it is. As you can see these garages need demolishing all the grass and weeds are overgrown and I was stood only on the path when I took this picture.

There is also a big ugly slab of concrete where the previous garages on the left side have been demolished, but it looks like it's just been left?? :Angry_32:

What can be done about this?

  4. I would like to advise all residents within Newton Farm that I have been working with Martin Gilleland in proposing - Argyll Rise, Waterfield Road, Newton Farm, Herefordshire HR2 7BN to be formally nominated as one of the Queens Dianmond Jubillee (Fields in Trust) nominations

This means that if we are successful then the open space to the rear of Argyll Rise will be secured for future generations to enjoy and will protect this lovely open space from being built or even developed on.

Even though it has now been formally accepted as one of the nominations and is only the second open space in Herefordshire, the real hard work is soon to start. We will need as much support and everyone to vote on line so that the more we get the better chance we will have in keeping this for ever.

I am extremily proud to be supporting this fantastic initiative.

All that is known currently is voting will commence sometime in October 2011.

When I know more on how the voting process is to be conducted I will personally visit all the homes surrounding the area to try and get as much support as is possible.

  5. As a suggestion from another Councillor for Belmont Ward, perhaps we could post the news on Belmont Voice, even if it is only a cut and paste from the newsletter.

Also as a new Member and Councillor for Belmont Ward I have not yet been furnished with one of these news letters.

If you are happy then perhaps as my intial comment that we could post it here to widen the readership.

  6. As I advised I spoke to the new Inspector on Monday evening at my home about many things in the Belmont ward including notification of crime he advised if you click onto West Mercia website then click onto Belmont, and look for 'crime mapper' it is updated all the time. On another point you can get the newsletter on there or on this site under police.

I totally agree with you who looks at notice boards, may I suggest you contact the chairman Cllr Edwards or clerk of the parish council as they are the one's who saction and put information out in Belmont parish.
