A spokesperson for Friends of the Upper Wye said;

"We have just recorded our highest phosphate levels ever at Bredwardine Bridge: 0.29 ppm, more than 4 times the target set by the Environment Agency for this section of this fragile and failing river. With the river in spate, the sheer volume of nutrients this represents is frightening"
