  1. Rumours that Eli Goulding is to open Debenhams we are being informed are untrue and merely speculation as her sister works at Debenhams in Gloucester. The Hereford Mayor will be opening Waitrose.

I also notice that the HT have removed quite a few comments from their original headline including some from HV... they have merely created a new update topic but the old one has gone.

Her sister has a job at Debenhams, Hereford.

Speculation obviously but Debenhams are still pushing to open on the 17th.

  2. Waitrose is the most expensive supermarket on any high street, but they will still be in competition with all the others. As I said before I will probably be invited to the opening as a councillor, but that will be the first and last time I will go there, I do my food shopping in Marks and Spencers, and Debenhams has other outlets taking up space in their stores it is not exclusively their merchandise they sell, on saying that none of these well named stores are exclusive to their brands, it was said in the press recently their profit margins are down for the second year running, I can see this store and possibly a few more closing within six months and where will we be then a monstrocity of a shopping centre that will have half their shops gone! I hope I am wrong but I remember the Kingsway Shopping Centre in Newport Wales, their units were half empty within six months but it did to Newport town centre as this one has done to High Town KILLED IT!!! and it's not even open yet!

If you feel like that Glenda then please reject the invite to the opening.

As for killing High Town, I find that highly ironic as you yourself back the 'law' stopping hot food traders opening after 1.30am.

You are yourself denying local traders profit.

  3. It's incredible. If it was built out of town completely I would agree with any complaints.

We aren't Cardiff or Birmingham. Neither are we Worcester or Cheltenham. We are Hereford and boy can't you tell. Complaining about having to cross a road is simply clutching at straws and one of the reasons why this city is so far behind and miles off the rest.
