Event details

A “must-go-to” event returns to Hereford Cathedral this year after Covid forced its postponement twelve months ago. ABF The Soldiers’ Charity annual Christmas Concert returns in all its glory, with school choirs, bands and even a guest appearance by members of a former rock band.

Other performers include;
The Herefordshire Youth Concert Band
Hereford Police Choir with David Coulson (Baritone)
Marches Military Wives Choir featuring soloist Meg Reid
Weobley High School Choir
Stretton Sugwas Academy Primary School Choir
Hereford Fanfare Trumpets

This year’s speaker will be Les Binns, a former soldier helped by the charity who was badly injured by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in Afghanistan. Five years later, Les decided to attempt to conquer Mount Everest, but just 500 metres from the summit, he abandoned his ascent to help a fellow climber in distress. He saved her life. His second attempt, in May 2017, had to be abandoned due to weather conditions.

Due to limited audience capacity, organisers are recommending tickets are booked early. For comfort and safety, there will be more distancing between seating and people are being encouraged to wear face coverings when they move around the building.
