The driver of the Volkswagen that was involved in a collision with a Monmouthshire Council gritting lorry over the weekend has written to us saying he cannot believe he is still alive! An RTC involving a gritting lorry and another vehicle as ice and snow falls across the county. photographs courtesy of Peterchurch Fire Station Crews from Peterchurch Fire Station along with colleagues from Ewyas Harold Fire Station and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service assisted at the scene. Campaign: Yet another RTC on the A49 near Moreton on Lugg today. This is the third accident in less than a week! This follows another RTC on the A49 near Leominster on Boxing Day after a collision between car and fuel tanker. A man was taken to hospital only last Tuesday (22nd) following another RTC. There was also an accident on the 14th of December north bound at Dinmore and and accident where a vehicle ended upside down in a ditch at the end of November. There have been many more accidents over the years in the accident hotspot. Hereford Voice is calling

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision at Moreton-on-Lugg, Hereford, where a woman sadly died. At around 1.50pm on Tuesday 8 December a Nissan Micra was travelling along the C1120 towards the A49 when the collision occurred. Police Sergeant Andy Wortley said: “The vehicle was travelling along the road when it was in collision with a bridge which crosses over the River Lugg. “While investigations are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage to c

Car flips onto roof after hitting flood water at Llangua

Crews from Leominster Fire Station attended this RTC involving a single small vehicle, near Bush Bank. On arrival, passers by had already assisted casualty from vehicle, initial casualty care was provided by the crew and then casualty left with West Midlands Ambulance Service. The vehicle was made safe by the fire crews.

Police and other emergency services including crews from Peterchurch Fire Station attended an RTC at Vowchurch early this morning. A vehicle was on its side and casualty had removed from the vehicle with assistance from passers by prior to the arrival of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Traffic & Travel: The M5 in Gloucestershire will be closed until Monday after a serious multi-vehicle crash. The motorway is closed in both directions between Junctions 9 and 11 near Tewkesbury following a serious collision in the early hours of Sunday morning. RTC involving large goods vehicle carrying farm feed and a tractor/trailer carrying potatoes. The A449 Beefeater towards Ledbury and at Fownhope turning, Ross on Wye bound from Ledbury. Ross on Wye Fire Station and Whitchurch Fire Station crews have both assisted with significant fuel leaks which were prevented from entering drains using environmental grab packs and soil. Road will remain closed for some time while they await recovery of vehicles.

West Mercia Police are appealing for any information and any witnesses to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in Hereford. Between 11.30pm and 3am, the car which had two occupants inside, was travelling between Mordiford and Dormington and appears to have left the road at Clay Hill Pit in Hereford. The car has finally settled in a roadside orchard. Tragically, a 23 year old man and a 17 year old girl inside the car were killed. A car crashed into the the end of a terraced house in New St Leominster just after 9pm last night. A very lucky escape for the family, a woman and two children who were in the property at the time but fortunately they were upstairs at the time of the incident and escaped unharmed. Leominster fire crews were quickly on the scene and the isolated electric and gas supply to make property safe while carrying out a structural assessment.
