  1. Police searching for a man missing from Herefordshire have found a body. As part of enquiries to locate 33-year-old Rok Simsic searches of the River Wye have been carried out and yesterday a body was recovered from the water. The family of Rok has been informed however formal identification has yet to be carried out. Rok was last seen in Herefordshire on Thursday 5 November.
  2. A full and thorough investigation has been launched and a Hereford man arrested on suspicion of rape after an incident in the city yesterday afternoon (Thursday 19 November). Shortly after 2pm West Mercia Police received a report that a woman in her 20s had been approached by a man in the St James’ Road area and that she had been attacked and sexually assaulted. Officers were quickly in the area, searches were carried out and as part of our enquiries a 32-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of rape. He currently remains in police custody. A man in his fifties sadly died at an address in St John’s Court close to Hereford's Edgar Street football stadium on Friday evening just after 10pm A 43-year-old man from Hereford was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.   4. A woman has been charged with murder following an incident in Cradley Hereford. Laura Van Marle, aged 40, of no fixed address, was today (Sunday 27 September) charged with the murder of 69-year-old Susanna Van Marle. She was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a 73-year-old man. Earlier today officers were been granted a 36-hour magistrates' extension to continue questioning two people who were arrested on suspicion of murder. Overnight a 12-hour custody extension had been granted for both the woman aged in her 20s and from Birmingham and the man aged in his 30s and from Wolverhampton. Officers have closed the M5 between junction 11A at Brockworth and junction 12 for Quedgeley after a person was found dead on the carriageway.   17. Appeal for witnesses to armed robbery - Hereford We are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Hereford. The incident happened at around 10pm on Thursday, 29 August at the Tesco Express store on Holme Lacy Road. Two males wearing balaclavas are believed to have entered the store and threatened staff with a knife before making off with a quantity of cash and alcohol.   19. Breaking News: Hostage Situation. We have received 'unconfirmed' reports that a man is holding a male and a female hostage at a property in Poole Close. Armed police are at the scene and this has been an ongoing situation since about 3am. There is also now a fire appliance and crew on site.   24. Police want better powers to deal with beggars in Welsh city centre. A public consultation has been launched on measures to tackle anti-social behaviour in Newport which could see a blanket ban on begging in its city centre. The city’s council is looking to update its Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) which was put in place in 2015 to prevent individuals and groups from committing anti-social behaviour in the city centre.
