  1. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to a serious agricultural building fire in Kings Pyon, near Hereford at around 13:03 on Monday, 18 January 2021. The fire was in a large agricultural building – two barns approximately 120m by 120m containing 500 tonnes of straw.   2. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews have be called to a fire which has engulfed a barn at Kings Pyon in Herefordshire. The heat from the core of the fire is an incredible 650c as you can see from the heat gun.
  3. Emergency services attended the scene yesterday morning between Croft Castle and Lucton involving two vehicles. Two people were treated for minors injuries at the roadside however, one motorist was taken to hospital and later released.
  4. A Herefordshire village are to receive funding from the PCC to help them tackle the issue of speeding. Lyonshall Parish Council highlighted their concerns about speeding through their village in a recent online engagement event hosted by Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion and, after speaking with him directly, the council applied to his dedicated road safety fund. Consequently, the council will receive £2,675 from the fund for a new speed indicator device that will operate in the village of Lyonshall, with the area identified by the local council as a speeding hotspot.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service water rescues teams from across the two counties have rescued 44 people from their vehicles, caught out by the rising floodwaters, further crews have assisted homeowners with serious flooding effecting electrics and giving advice. Keith Brown, aged 55, from Blakes Lane, Guarlford in Malvern, was sentenced today (Wednesday 16 December) at Worcester Crown Court, to 10 years and 8 months in prison extended for 3 years to serve on licence for raping an 83 year old woman in her home. Brown pleaded guilty on Monday 14 September to the rape which happened in the early hours of Thursday 13 August. He was also given a restraining order not to contact the victim for life.   13. Herefordshire is one of the first area's outside of hospitals to offer the vaccine as part of the national roll out. Bridge Street Sports Centre in Leominster will initially receive 975 doses next Monday with the elderly and vulnerable being vaccinated first. Those people will be invited to attend for their inoculation either by letter or text message. Once people have had their first vaccination, they will make an appointment to return for their second dose around 3 weeks later.

  19. Police have released CCTV images following an attempted robbery at a shop in Bromyard. At 7.40pm last night (Monday 23 November) at Premier on the High Street. A man entered and threatened the cashier with a knife demanding money from the till. The offender left immediately, and no money was stolen during the incident. Police are appealing to anyone who might recognise this man, who we hope can help us with our investigation.   20. At around 3.30pm yesterday (Sunday 22 November) we received reports of a serious collision on Church Street, Bromyard involving a car and a pedestrian. A 10-year-old girl was injured in the collision and transported to hospital. She remains in hospital with potentially life changing injuries. The collision resulted in the closure of Church Street, which then remained closed for several hours.   22. A full and thorough investigation has been launched and a Hereford man arrested on suspicion of rape after an incident in the city yesterday afternoon (Thursday 19 November). Shortly after 2pm West Mercia Police received a report that a woman in her 20s had been approached by a man in the St James’ Road area and that she had been attacked and sexually assaulted. Officers were quickly in the area, searches were carried out and as part of our enquiries a 32-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of rape. He currently remains in police custody.   23. Crews from Ewyas Harold Fire Station were called today to a house fire at Broad Oak, Hereford. Six appliances from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Serviceand two from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were at the seen along with supporting officers and the water carrier. The fire damaged the ground floor, first floor and roof area of the property. 9mtr ladders were used at the back and front of the property to gain access to the roof crews had to remove a proportion of the roofing materials.   24. RTC: West Mercia Police assisted colleagues from Gwent Policetogether with crews from Ewyas Harold Fire Station at an RTC on the A465 at Llangua this evening. The vehicle had rolled after hitting flood water. Driver was taken to Hospital to be checked over. #HerefordVoice
  25. Crews from Peterchurch Fire Station and Ewyas Harold Fire Station were called this evening to another RTC this time at A465 Pontrilas. A single vehicle left the road and rolled into a field.
