  1. Good to see a sensible editorial comment in HT re the western road to facilitate house building. The facts are there for all to see who can be bothered to read the various reports over the years. This poor attempt at a bypass was more to do with house building that would end with worse traffic issues on Whitecross Rd Three Elmes Rd and Kings Acre Rd. Bypasses by their very nature should bypass not be a link to house building. Also the plan was to build the bridge over the Wye last, so at least 5 to 7 years in the future leaving developers free to use the road for purely house building. Hopefully now plans will develop to build an Eastern bridge first to ease the issues in the City. Electric buses can be purchased and the light rail can be looked at. Hereford has taken to the Berly bikes better than expected. The County is moving in the right direction on a transport front the new administration is a breath of fresh air after years of neglect.

  2. GLEN  Sue remains a City Councillor which as you should know is a Parish Council.

She is no longer a County Councillor as she immediately resigned. The papers to call a by election were issued by the Unitary authority on May 10th. There are currently two vacancies on the County Council one in Ross one in Whitecross. Once again Sue is no longer a County Councillor but she is a City Councillor. I hope this clears up your confusion.

  3. Perhaps we should have another election if people don't like the result of this one? Imagine if we were told lies and voters believed them!

What we should do is allow MPs to whittle down to two candidates then allow approximately 125000 people in their 70s to choose the next PM.

    Don't you just love democracy?

  4. Just to point out and this is the problem with the UKs voting system. If 100 people were in a room only 37 voted for Brexit.

The problem is this and my Polish and Portuguese friends agree. The European Economic Community turned into a Federal Government headed up by Germany and France.

No good will come of this Vanity project caused by Cameron to try and save the arse of the Tories. British politics is now broken with the Left and Right split into many factions.

  5. The time has come for politics to be taught correctly in UK schools,  so that young people feel engaged and understand the importance of their role in society. Of course the Cons do not want that to happen, they want the elite taught at Eton and the banking mogul's to carry on keeping the 'riff raff' at the bottom of the pile. The Tory right wing press rail against Corbyn with real venom where is the balance. The Brexit party are ruling the BBC airwaves, once again no balance.

The dinosaur parties of left and right are broken.

I will leave you with this thought 75% of Americans believe it is wrong that the Arabic numbering system is taught in US schools.

Megilleland, thank for clarification, its Gloucester council area, why is he standing in Hereford.

Intrigued as to why you wouldn't work with any of them as you will achieve nothing on your own.

Tom Smith, to answer your question, I have found a lot of people have said on NF, to candidates about Brexit, if you don't support Brexit your not getting my vote, that said on my leaflet you will see I do support Brexit, also resident have shown me where they have put the leaflets from various candidates in the bin. I do believe and have done for many years that candidates should live in the ward they are standing for. There is so much apathy in these local elections this time round.

The Con for Widemarsh lives in the Forest of Dean allegedly works at Wiggins

Nothing really but if the candidates mindset is for remaining in the EU then I just don’t feel that I can vote for them.As silly as that might sound to you Tom it all boils down to my lost faith/trust in politicians after witnessing the last six months of the Brexit debacle.

but having looked at the candidates I don’t believe that the con trickster has a cat in hells chance of getting in...my money would be on Sharon Michael as she is the standing being run closely by Diane Toynbee with the Lib Dem,Stephen Williams as a dark horse possible?

if I do change my mind then I guess I will vote for Sharon Michael

Thanks for the reply, a persons personal opinion re Brexit I'm sure has no relevance on their role as a volunteer as a Parish councillor or even as a County councillor.

Had leaflets from only two candidates so far Diane Toynbee & Sharon Michael

as it stands I will not be voting as I can’t vote for no con tricksters,Lib Dem’s I will not even entertain them, the greens are a anti Brexit party so they too have got no chance of gaining my vote,Sharon Michael ind not sure of her Brexit stance? as I could not be bothered to even read her leaflet...as the way I feel about politicians at present is not printable!

Come on Cambo what has Brexit got to do with local Council elections?
