Hereford's Great Western Way Transformation!

Recommended Posts

Well to be fair, credit where credit is due, I was walking along the Great Western Way earlier today and was pleasantly surprised to see this.

Remember this lot?

Well this is how it looks today, beautiful in comparison.

The only small criticism I had, is why don't they cut all of the grass? it would look so much better. I checked this grass as to me there is no reason why it could not of been cut along with the rest of it.

Looking a lot better. Now if the council can cut back some of the tree's and bushes the full length of the footpath it will not only make it a much prettier place but will allow in more light and reduce the secluded area's making people not feel so vulnerable, but a fine job indeed.

Looking at the picture where the uncut grass is near the tree,it looks as if HHL are distinguishing their land from the council land which is cut by Amey. I have spoken to Rachel Davies this morning requesting all bushes, grass be cut, together with canopy of trees to open the area up right along GWW, also asking for more lighting. I am waiting for her to get back to me. I did say that people are afraid to walk there since the boy got attacked, again reminding her that this area is used by children going to Riverside School.

This is much better, I only wish that they would clean it all up, from one end to the other because it could be such a pretty area.
