European Election Candidates 23 May 2019

Recommended Posts

There are 7 main parties in the upcoming EU Elections 23 May 2019 with 7 seats in the West Midlands up for grabs.

There are 49 candidates being put forward to represent the region.

When people go to the polls, it will only have the parties on the ballot paper for people to vote for NOT the person.

Based on the % of votes each party gets that will determine how many seats they have attained.

Once the votes are through the Party Chair will choose which candidates get a seat.

Of course if the government manage to reach a Brexit deal by the 22nd of May the vote will be called off.

Here are the party candidates:

Diane Toynbee & Nigel Ely are two names I recognise who are both standing in the locals & EU..so what will they do if elected locally then the EU elections are held they both get elected for that?

havent checked though to see if anybody else is standing in both.

Once the votes are through the Party Chair will choose which candidates get a seat. Therefore if they have a local candidate elected then I am sure they will choose another name on the list. Of course if all were standing as local candidates and all got elected then there would be a problem. Based on the % of votes each party gets will determine how many seats they have attained and therefore this situation unlikely, but we will see.

while I was talking to  people in High Town today for Brexit Rupert Lowe joined us, he had a very good reception from the people everyone wanted to speak to him, and people were having their photo taken with him, he is a very nice man. The Hereford for Brexit team will be in High Town again on 18th May, come along and support us. It will be very interesting as remainers are suppose to be there at the same time.

I will add that every excuse in the book has been used to thwart Brexit. The Remainers are dredging up that we never voted to be 'poorer'. We voted in ignorance of the consequences ..... (insert: we were too stupid). It's been 2 or 3 years of Political manipulation to reverse a result the Establishment doesn't want! Vote Brexit!

people were taking leaflets to post through doors in their neighbourhood and posters for their cars, windows at home boards for their gardens, and flags, we had a very good reception yesterday we almost ran out of leaflets. Come and see us in High Town next Saturday 18th between 10am and 3pm. Glenda

While they are counting the votes here is something to recall recorded 42 years ago. Sounds familiar today.

Brexit party came top so far, in Hereford Ellie Chowns got in for Greens, so her cabinet seat on the council, they will have to choose someone else.
