Stabbing in Brampton Road

ONE person has been taken to hospital and another arrested after a suspected stabbing in Hereford.


Officers have confirmed they are in the early stages of an investigation following a 'serious incident' in the vicinity of Cusop Close, Newton Farm.


There is no ongoing threat to the public and both people involved were known to each other.


Any witnesses or anyone with information should call police on 101 with incident number 584S of 15/05/16

Having spoken to some people living in Brampton Road, they told me the incident happened in Grosmont Grove, the upper half of Brampton Road from the shop to Treago Grove has beem cordoned off, both men were known to each other, Air Ambulance attended to take man to hospital with what was reported as neck injuries , the other was arrested at the scene. My neice lives in Grosmont Grove so will check with her in the morning if she knows more.

UPDATE from HT.

 

A 51 year old man was stabbed whilst sitting in a car, he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries, he is in a serious but stable condition.

A 20 year old man was arrested at the scene for attempted murder, two knives were recovered at the scene.

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Hereford.

 
Thomas Newman, 20, of Cusop Close, Hereford, did not indicate or enter a plea when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court this morning.
 
He has also been charged with two counts of threatening a person with an offensive weapon.

The defendant is Autistic and was estranged from his father. He has been remanded to a secure unit and the father is in critical care in Birmingham. Thoughts are with his mother/carer who cannot be with her son at this time of need.

The strains of bearing a mental illness.
