    Cyclists on Footpaths!

Cyclists on Footpaths! Should cyclists be allowed on footpaths? I ask the question because this morning I was walking along Belmont Avenue and a chap on a bike knocked into me from behind and almost knocked me to the floor as he came speeding past me on along the footpath on his bike. He turned around and shouted sorry pal but to be honest it not only startled me but I will probably have a bruise on my arm. I could have easily lost my balance and fallen into the road. I thought riding a bicycle on a footpath was illegal? I appreciate that some people do not like riding on the roads and most of the councils in the country are implementing cycle lanes where they can but if the roads are narrow in the first place it makes it very difficult. I always remeber growing up that the police would tell you to get off your bike and walk on footpaths but that does not appear to happen anymore. I have just seen this article on Sky news

  6. These flats have not been up 2 years yet and already they have had to repair the roof, now I see mould appearing in different areas on the external walls, see photographs I took this morning. These flats are starting to look a little shabby already, I wonder how they will look in 5 years time...

    Notorious Brothers Band

Enjoyed seeing the Notorious Brothers band playing last night at the Vaga Tavern. Drummer was blind but brilliant and funny with it, great band and I would definitely go and see them again.

    Redundant South Wye Notice Board

Redundant South Wye Notice Board... I could not help but take a picture of this notice board, all the leaflets and information within are totally faded and in some case completely blank due to sever fading or lack of up keep. How much did this notice board originally cost? I remember attending a meeting of the Belmont Parish last year and the topic of a new notice boards came up and I could not believe the costs that were being considered for new signs! if I remember correctly a new aluminium notice board for Belmont was in the region of £4000+!! yes that's right you did read it correctly £4000+ I am not sure what the outcome was in the end. Who is responsible for the notice boards and why is this particular one been left in such poor state? "We can make it better" ha ha I wish someone would...
  11. Installation work for the new CCTV on the Hunderton Bridge has begun. A tree to the one side has been removed, I assume to give a better view but a lot more clearing up needs to be done. There are so many overgrown trees and bushes, there is almost a canopy in some parts making it dark during daylight hours.

GWW - Public Meeting With Police

I have arranged a public meeting, mainly for the residents of Hunderton but for anyone who is worried about using the Great Western Way at the moment, with the police, at the Kindle Centre on Thursday at 7pm. Officers investigating the recent murder, and related matters will be attending, along with the local police commander, Supt Sue Thomas and the local south wye police team. The police will give as much information as they can about this investigation, and will answer questions from the public. This is another opportunity for anyone who thinks they may have any information, however slight,to give to the police and also an opportunity to discuss latest plans for CCTV on the Great Western Way.

    Disgusting Irresponsible Dog Owners!

I walk my dog three or four times a week in Belmont Park and I can assure you all that I pick up any deposits, no big deal. There are those who don't and I have spoken to them and had abuse or they just look at you as if you are mad, then there are others who do pick up with their bags then throw it into the bushes or into a tree. If you don't pick up well you don't give a monkeys for any normal behaviour. I have got to know most of the dog walkers and the ones I know I think clean up.
  17. Well to be fair, credit where credit is due, I was walking along the Great Western Way earlier today and was pleasantly surprised to see this. Remember this lot? Well this is how it looks today, beautiful in comparison.

    Hunderton Bridge Hereford - >>>Update!<<<

I had a stroll along the old railway lines and noticed how dangerous this fencing and pipe work is actually on the bridge. This looks very sharp indeed. Just though I would put these pictures on here for Councillors and Amey to see.
