Grass growing 'too slowly' in heatwave for council

As a result of the glorious summer we have enjoyed, the rate of grass growth across the county has slowed to such that the decision has been taken to monitor growth as we postpone the next scheduled amenity cut, redeploying resource to other grounds maintenance tasks . . .

Maybe they can sweep the kerbs and unblock a few drains in the meantime.

The 'before' and 'after' pics on that Twitter link were taken from entirely different angles. I presume they are trying to say they cut a hedge. They also seem to suggest that if the grass was growing quicker then that hedge cutting may not have taken place!
